DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Eccli 44:16-27; 45, 3-20
Ecco il gran sacerdote che nei suoi giorni piacque a Dio, e fu trovato giusto, e nel giorno dell’ira fu strumento di conciliazione. Nessuno fu simile a lui nel conservare la legge dell’Eccelso. Per questo, con giuramento, il Signore gli assicurò la gloria nella sua stirpe. A lui diede la benedizione di tutti gli antenati, e confermò il suo patto sopra il capo di lui. Lo riconobbe con le sue benedizioni; conservò per lui la sua misericordia, e trovò grazia agli occhi del Signore. Lo glorificò al cospetto dei re, e gli mostrò la sua gloria. Fece con lui un patto eterno, e gli diede un grande sacerdozio, lo rese invidiabile nel suo onore. Gli fece compiere le funzioni sacerdotali ed avere gloria nel suo nome, e offrirgli un degno sacrificio di incenso, di soave profumo.
Matth 25:14-23
In quel tempo Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli questa parabola: «Un uomo, in procinto di partire, chiamati i servi consegnò loro i suoi beni: a chi diede cinque talenti, a chi due, a chi uno: a ciascuno secondo la sua capacità, e subito partì. Tosto colui, che aveva ricevuto cinque talenti, andò a negoziarli e ne guadagnò altri cinque. Similmente quello che ne aveva ricevuti due, ne guadagnò altri due. Ma colui che ne aveva ricevuto uno andò a fare una buca nella terra e vi nascose il danaro del suo padrone. Or molto tempo dopo ritornò il padrone di quei servi, e li chiamò a render conto. E venuto quello che aveva ricevuto cinque talenti, ne presentò altri cinque dicendo: “Signore, me ne desti cinque, ecco ne ho guadagnati altri cinque”. E il padrone a lui: “Bene, servo buono e fedele, perché sei stato fedele nel poco, ti darò potere su molto; entra nella gioia del tuo Signore”. E presentatosi l’altro che aveva ricevuto due talenti, disse: “Signore, me ne hai affidati due; eccone guadagnati altri due”. E il padrone a lui: “Bene, servo buono e fedele, perché sei stato fedele, nel poco, ti darò potere su molto: entra nella gioia del tuo Signore”».
Anche oggi celebriamo la festa un santo vescovo Fra Norberto in Germania. Un giorno fu colpito da una folgore e cadde da cavallo. Ebbe la visione di diventare sacerdote ed eremita. Creo’ un ordine religioso che ebbe grande diffusione nel medioevo. Venne poi eletto vescovo di Magdeburgo e come vescovo sostenne il papa Innocenzo II contro l’antipapa Anacleto.
Era anche amico di San Bernardo. Spese la sua vita seguendo i suoi talenti per il bene della Chiesa.
Anche noi dobbiamo sentirci responsabili anche per un solo talento. Tutto per la causa del Signore!

Sir 44:16-27; 45:3-20
Behold, a great priest, who in his days pleased God, and was found just; and in the time of wrath he was made a reconciliation. There was not found the like to him, who kept the law of the Most High. Therefore, by an oath, the Lord made him to increase among his people. He gave him the blessing of all nations, and confirmed His covenant upon his head. He acknowledged him in His blessings; He preserved for him His mercy; and he found grace before the eyes of the Lord. He glorified him in the sight of kings, and gave him a crown of glory. He made an everlasting covenant with him, and gave him a great priesthood; and made him blessed in glory. To execute the office of the priesthood, and to have praise in His name, and to offer Him a worthy incense for an odor of sweetness.

At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to His disciples: A man going abroad, called his servants and handed over his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his particular ability, and then he went on his journey. And he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more. In like manner, he who had received the two gained two more. But he who had received the one went away and dug in the earth and hid his master’s money. Then after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Master, you handed over to me five talents; behold, I have gained five others in addition.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; because you have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many; enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had received the two talents came, and said, ‘Master, you handed over to me two talents; behold, I have gained two more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; because you have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many; enter into the joy of your master.’
Even today we celebrate the feast of a holy bishop Fra Norberto in Germany. One day he was struck by lightning and fell off his horse. He had a vision of becoming a priest and a hermit. He created a religious order that was widespread in the Middle Ages. He was then elected bishop of Magdeburg and as bishop he supported Pope Innocent II against the antipope Anacletus.
He was also a friend of Saint Bernard. He spent his life pursuing his talents for the good of the Church.
We too must feel responsible even for just one talent. All for the cause of the Lord!
