Matt 5:13-19
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis: Vos estis sal terræ. Quod si sal evanúerit, in quo saliétur? Ad níhilum valet ultra, nisi ut mittátur foras, et conculcétur ab homínibus. Vos estis lux mundi. Non potest cívitas abscóndi supra montem pósita. Neque accéndunt lucérnam, et ponunt eam sub módio, sed super candelábrum, ut lúceat ómnibus qui in domo sunt. Sic lúceat lux vestra coram homínibus, ut vídeant ópera vestra bona, et gloríficent Patrem vestrum, qui in coelis est. In that time Jesus said to His disciples: You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing any more but to be cast out, and to be trodden on by men. You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dalla seconda lettera di san Paolo apostolo a Timoteo.
Carissimo: Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Gesù Cristo, che ha da venire a giudicare i vivi ed i morti, per la sua venuta e per il suo regno: predica la Parola, insisti a tempo opportuno e fuori tempo. Sorgeranno falsi maestri. Ma tu compi il tuo ministero e combatti l’eresia conservando sempre la fede.
Dal Vangelo secondo S. Matteo.
In quel tempo Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: “Voi siete il sale della terra. E se il sale perde la sua virtù, come lo si rinvigorira’?” E prosegue: “Non crediate che io sia venuto ad abrogare la Legge o i Profeti, ma a completare. In verità vi dico che finché non passi il cielo e la terra non passerà un solo iota o un apice solo della Legge, che tutto non sia compiuto.”
La settimana e’ dedicata al Buon Pastore, Gesu’. Ricordiamo un santo e dottore della Chiesa, San Pietro Canisio. Uno dei primi discepoli di S. Ignazio di Loyola. Combatte’ l’eresia protestante. L’Austria e la Germania meridionale rimasero cattoliche.
Ma oramai l’apostasia e’ dilagata. Sono venuti “i tempi difficili” per la Chiesa, con il pretesto di “innovare” ” o “aggiornare” il Vangelo. Dobbiamo resistere ed essere di esempio trasmettendo la parola di Dio nel Vangelo. Di questo occorre parlare.
Ma presto verr’ la disperazione: a quel punto avranno sete della parola di Dio e noi potremo trasmetterla!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

From the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to Timothy.
Dearest: I adjure you before God and Jesus Christ, who is to come to judge the living and the dead, for his coming and for his kingdom: preach the Word, insist in season and out of season. False teachers will arise. But you carry out your ministry and fight heresy while always maintaining the faith.
From the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
At that time Jesus said to his disciples: “You are the salt of the earth. And if the salt loses its virtue, how will it be reinvigorated?” And he continues: “Do not think that I have come to abrogate the Law or the Prophets, but to complete. Truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single iota or a single tittle of the Law will pass away, until all is accomplished.”
The week is dedicated to the Good Shepherd, Jesus. We remember a saint and doctor of the Church, Saint Peter Canisius. One of the first disciples of St. Ignatius of Loyola. He fought Protestant heresy. Austria and southern Germany remained Catholic.
But now the apostasy has spread. “Difficult times” have come for the Church, under the pretext of “innovating” or “updating” the Gospel. We must resist and be an example by transmitting the word of God in the Gospel. This needs to be talked about.
But desperation will soon come: at that point they will thirst for the word of God and we will be able to pass it on!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
