DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dal libro del profeta Ezechiele.
Ecco l’aspetto di ciascuno dei quattro esseri viventi: tutti e quattro avevano faccia di uomo e di leone alla loro destra; tutti e quattro avevano faccia di bove a sinistra; al disopra di tutti e quattro v’era la faccia dell’aquila. Così era il loro aspetto.
Dal Vangelo secondo S. Luca evangelista.
In quel tempo: Il Signore scelse anche altri settantadue discepoli e li mandò a due a due innanzi a sé in ogni città e luogo dove egli era per andare. E diceva loro: «La messe è molta, ma gli operai sono pochi. Pregate dunque il padrone della messe che mandi operai per la sua mietitura.
Gesu’ manda 72 discepoli a due a due presso gli israeliti per evangelizzarli. Fornisce loro raccomandazioni precise. Oggi celebriamo la festa di San Marco evangelista. La prima lettura ricorda la visione del profeta Ezechiete. Anticipa la visione di S. Giovanni evangelista nell’Apocalisse. Le quattro bestie rappresentano, secondo l’interpretazione usuale (anche per l’Apocalisse), i quattro evangelisti.
I 72 discepoli vengono inviati ad evangelizzare la Palestina. Uno di questi fu San Marco, poi collaboratore di San Pietro. Anche lui e’ morto martire.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

From the book of the prophet Ezekiel.
Here is the appearance of each of the four living beings: all four had the face of a man and a lion on their right; all four had bull faces to the left; Above all four was the face of the eagle. This was their appearance.
From the Gospel according to St. Luke the evangelist.
At that time: The Lord also chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to go. And he said to them: «The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the master of the harvest to send workers to harvest.
Jesus sends 72 disciples two by two to the Israelites to evangelize them. It provides them with precise recommendations. Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Mark the Evangelist. The first reading recalls the vision of the prophet Ezekiet. Anticipates the vision of St. John the Evangelist in the Apocalypse. The four beasts represent, according to the usual interpretation (also for the Apocalypse), the four evangelists.
The 72 disciples are sent to evangelize Palestine. One of these was Saint Mark, later a collaborator of Saint Peter. He too died a martyr
