Lettura della Lettera di San Pietro apostolo.
Dalla prima lettera di san Pietro apostolo.
1 Pet 5:1-4; 5:10-11
Carissimi: Sacerdote anch’io e teste della Passione di Cristo e chiamato ad aver parte alla futura gloria, io scongiuro i sacerdoti che sono tra voi:
Matth 16:13-19
In quel tempo, Gesù, venuto nella zona di Cesarea di Filippo, interrogava i suoi discepoli: «Chi dicono che sia il Figlio dell’uomo?». Ed essi risposero: «Alcuni Giovanni il. Battista, altri Elia, altri ancora Geremia, o uno dei profeti». Disse loro Gesù: «Ma voi, chi dite che io sia?». Rispose Simon Pietro: «Tu sei il Cristo, il Figlio del Dio vivente».
Gesu’ chiama Pietro Bar Iona. Questo e’ il nome ebraico di Pietro. Ma d’ora in avanti lui sara’ Pietro. Sotero e Caio sono entrambi papi martiri. Hanno condiviso tutto con Gesu’ anche il martirio. Ma anche la sorte del gregge visto che la persecuzione contro i cristiani era generalizzata.
Come adesso al nostro tempo. Se il pastore e i fedeli voglio seguire il cammino di Gesu’: solo cosi’ avremo la gloria!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

1 Pet 5:1-4; 5:10-11
Dearly beloved: I too am a priest and witness of the Passion of Christ and called to have a part in the future glory, I adjure the priests who are among you:
Matt 16:13-19
At that time, Jesus, having come to the area of Caesarea Philippi, asked his disciples: “Who do they say the Son of Man is?”. And they replied: «Some John the. Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus calls Peter Bar Iona. This is the Hebrew name of Peter. But from now on he will be Pietro. Soter and Gaius are both martyr popes. They shared everything with Jesus, even martyrdom. But also the fate of the flock given that the persecution against Christians was widespread.
Like now in our time. If the pastor and the faithful want to follow the path of Jesus: only in this way will we have glory!
