EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Ioannes 16:16-22
Gospel
John 16:16-22
In that time: Jesus said to his disciples: A little while, and now you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me: because I go to the Father. Then some of the disciples said one to another: What is this that he saith to us: A little while, and you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me, and, because I go to the Father? They said therefore: What is this that he saith, A little while? we know not what he speaketh. And Jesus knew that they had a mind to ask him; and he said to them: Of this do you inquire among yourselves, because I said: A little while, and you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me? Amen, amen I say to you, that you shall lament and weep, but the world shall rejoice; and you shall be made sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman, when she is in labour, hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she hath brought forth the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. So also you now indeed have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice; and your joy no man shall take from you.
DALL’OMELIA (FROM THE HOMILY) – DOMENICA 21 APRILE 2024 ORE 10.30

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Reading of the Letter of Saint Peter the Apostle. Dearly beloved: I adjure you that, as foreigners and pilgrims, you abstain from carnal desires, which militate against the soul, living well among the Gentiles, so that, even by speaking ill of yourselves as if you were evildoers, considering your works good, they glorify God on the day of his coming. From the Gospel of St. John. At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: A little longer and you will no longer see me: and again a little more and you will see me again, because I go to the Father. Therefore some of his disciples said to each other, What does this mean, saying, Yet a little while, and ye shall see me no more: and again a little while, and ye shall see me again, because I go to the Father? What is this little thing he talks about? We don't understand what he says. And Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them: You ask yourselves why he said: A little longer and you will see me no more: and a little more and you will see me again. We are approaching the feast of the Ascension. Jesus' speech precedes the Crucifixion. Jesus wants to prepare his people for events so that they find courage again! So we too must have faith! We cannot measure times but the signs to understand (events) are still given to us! The world despises us and persecutes us, but we have faith that protects us! The Church is no longer in the sacred buildings of our history! Persecution also wants to hit us by making prayer and community participation more difficult! But let's not be discouraged: this is our cross! We are like paladins ready to fight for the faith! Most Holy Mary is with us and protects us: we will be together with Her when we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit! Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
