Matt 25:1-13
In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis parábolam hanc: Símile erit regnum cœlórum decem virgínibus: quæ, accipiéntes lámpades suas, exiérunt óbviam sponso et sponsæ. Quinque autem ex eis erant fátuæ, et quinque prudéntes: sed quinque fátuæ, accéptis lampádibus, non sumpsérunt óleum secum: prudéntes vero accepérunt óleum in vasis suis cum lampádibus. Moram autem faciénte sponso, dormitavérunt omnes et dormiérunt. Média autem nocte clamor factus est: Ecce, sponsus venit, exíte óbviam ei. Tunc surrexérunt omnes vírgines illæ, et ornavérunt lámpades suas. Fátuæ autem sapiéntibus dixérunt: Date nobis de óleo vestro: quia lámpades nostræ exstinguúntur. In that time Jesus said to the people: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride. And five of them were foolish, and five wise. But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps. And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. But at last came also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not. Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.

Col 3:12-17
Fratelli: Rivestitevi come eletti di Dio, santi e amati, di sentimenti di misericordia, di bontà, di umiltà, di modestia e di pazienza, sopportandovi a vicenda e perdonandovi se qualcuno ha da dolersi di un altro. Come il Signore vi ha perdonato, così anche voi. Ma al di sopra di tutto questo, abbiate la carità, che è il vincolo della perfezione. E la pace di Cristo regni nei vostri cuori, perché siete stati chiamati a questa pace in modo da formare un solo corpo. Siate riconoscenti. La parola del Cristo àbiti in voi in tutta la sua ricchezza; istruitevi e avvisatevi gli uni gli altri con ogni sapienza, e, ispirati dalla grazia, levate canti a Dio nei vostri cuori con salmi, inni e càntici spirituali. E qualsiasi cosa facciate in parole o in opere, fate tutto nel nome del Signore Gesù Cristo, rendendo grazie a Dio Padre per mezzo di lui.
Matt 13:24-30
In quel tempo: Gesù disse alle turbe questa parabola: Il regno dei cieli è simile a un uomo che seminò buon seme nel suo campo. Ma nel tempo che gli uomini dormivano, il suo nemico andò e seminò della zizzania in mezzo al grano, e partì. Cresciuta poi l’erba, e venuta a frutto, comparve anche la zizzania. E i servi del padre di famiglia, accostatisi, gli dissero: Signore, non hai seminato buon seme nel tuo campo? Donde dunque è venuta la zizzania? Ed egli rispose loro: Qualche nemico ha fatto questo. E i servi gli dissero: Vuoi che andiamo a coglierla? Ed egli rispose: No, perché cogliendo la zizzania non strappiate con essa anche il grano. Lasciate che l’uno e l’altra crescano sino alla messe, e al tempo della messe dirò ai mietitori: Strappate per prima la zizzania e legatela in fastelli per bruciarla, e il grano raccoglietelo nel mio granaio.
Oggi festeggiamo Santa Cecilia protettrice della musica. Anche nella sofferenza piu’ grande, quella del martirio, riusciva a sentire accanto a se la presenza del Signore.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Col 3:12-17
Brethren: Put on, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, patience. Bear with one another and forgive one another, if anyone has a grievance against any other; even as the Lord has forgiven you, so also do you forgive. But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts; unto that peace, indeed, you were called in one body. Show yourselves thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly: in all wisdom teach and admonish one another by psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing in your hearts to God by His grace. Whatever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Matt 13:24-30
At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to the crowds: The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men were asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. And when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then the weeds appeared as well. And the servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ And the servants said to him, ‘Will you have us go and gather them up?’ ‘No,’ he said, ‘lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will say to the reapers: Gather up the weeds first, and bind them in bundles to burn; but gather the wheat into my barns.’
Today we celebrate Saint Cecilia, protector of music. Even in the greatest suffering, that of martyrdom, he was able to feel the presence of the Lord beside him.
