EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 15:1-20
Hypócritæ, bene prophetávit de vobis Isaías, dicens: Pópulus hic lábiis me honórat: cor autem eórum longe est a me. Sine causa autem colunt me, docéntes doctrínas et mandáta hóminum.
Gospel
Matt 15:1-20
At that time, the Scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the ancients? For they do not wash their hands when they take food. But He answered and said to them, And why do you transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Let him who curses father or mother be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever shall say to his father or mother, Any support you might have had from me is dedicated to God, does not have to honor his father or his mother.’ So you have made void the commandment of God by your tradition. Hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me; and in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrine the precepts of men.’ Then He called the crowd to Him, and said to them, Hear, and understand. What goes into the mouth does not defile a man; but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a man. Then His disciples came up and said to Him, Do You know that the Pharisees have taken offense at hearing this saying? But He answered and said, Every plant that My heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. Let them alone; they are blind guides of blind men. But if a blind man guide a blind man, both fall into a pit. But Peter spoke to Him, saying, Explain to us this parable. And He said, Are you also even yet without understanding? Do you not realize that whatever enters the mouth passes into the belly and is cast out into the drain? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and it is they that defile a man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, immorality, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things that defile a man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – MERCOLEDI 15 MARZO 2023 ORE 18.00:

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Exod 20:12-24

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Exod 20:12-24 This says the Lord God: “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long on the land that the Lord your God will give you. Don’t kill. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not testify falsely against your neighbor. Do not covet your neighbor’s house, do not covet his wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything else that belongs to him.” Now the people heard the thunders and the sound of the trumpet, and saw the lightning and the mountain smoking: therefore terrified and oppressed by fear, he stood afar off, saying to Moses: «You speak to us, and we will listen: do not speak to us the Lord, we do not have to die.” And Moses said to the people: “Do not be afraid: God has come only to test you, that his fear may be in you, and you will not sin”
Matt 15:1-20 At that time the scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem came to Jesus and said to him: «Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the ancients? In fact, they don’t wash their hands when they eat.” He answered them: “How is it that you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition? In fact, God said: “Honor your father and mother, and whoever curses your father and mother, be punished by death”; instead you say: “Whoever said to the father or mother: the subsidy I should give you is a sacred offering, is not bound to honor the father and mother”; and so in the name of your tradition you annulled the law of God. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: “This people honor me with their lips, but the heart is far from me; therefore they honor me in vain, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.” And calling the crowd to him, he said: “Listen and understand: not what enters through the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, that indeed defiles a man.”
In this Gospel passage on the rites and rules of the Jews, Jesus tells us to leave these blind guides who will be uprooted (they are no longer God’s!). They are tied to external rules and not to moral ones. In fact, sins are born from the heart. It is only Jesus who saves us from sin!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
