EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 25:14-23
Gospel
Matt 25:14-23
At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to His disciples: A man going abroad, called his servants and handed over his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his particular ability, and then he went on his journey. And he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more. In like manner, he who had received the two gained two more. But he who had received the one went away and dug in the earth and hid his master’s money. Then after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Master, you handed over to me five talents; behold, I have gained five others in addition.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; because you have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many; enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had received the two talents came, and said, ‘Master, you handed over to me two talents; behold, I have gained two more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; because you have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many; enter into the joy of your master.’
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – SABATO 4 2023 ORE 17.30

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1) (IN PREP.)
Malach 3:1-4.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1) (IN PREP.)
Malach 3:1-4. This saith the Lord God: Behold, I send my Angel, and he shall prepare the way before me. And immediately the Ruler whom you seek, and the Angel of the Testament whom you desire, will come to his temple. Behold, he comes: saith the Lord of hosts: and who shall think of the day of his coming, and who shall bear the sight of him? For he will be like the fire of the founder, like the lye of the fuller: he will melt and purge the silver, he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will offer the Lord sacrifices of righteousness . And the sacrifice of Judah and Jerusalem shall please the Lord, as in ages past and in the years of old: thus saith God Almighty.
Luke 2:22-32. At that time: When the days of Mary’s purification were fulfilled, according to the law of Moses, they brought Jesus to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, as it is written in the law of God: Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord; and to make the offering, as it is written in the law of God: a pair of turtledoves or two small doves. There was then in Jerusalem a man named Simon, and this righteous and fearful man awaited the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was in him. And the Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not die before seeing the Lord’s Anointed. Led by the Spirit he went to the temple. And when his relatives brought the child Jesus there to fulfill the custom of the law for him, he took him in his arms and blessed God, saying: Now let your servant go away in peace, O Lord, according to your word: Because my eyes have seen the salvation that you have prepared for all peoples: Light to enlighten the nations and glory of your people Israel.
We began the ritual with the blessing of the candles. The meaning is the light of the Gentiles and the glory of his people. It is the light of our life! The first title is that of purification forty days after childbirth. Although Mary didn’t need it for the BVM, always Virgin. The second title is that of the rite of the primogene which must be offered to God like all the firstfruits. Jesus also needed this rite. But the temple (the heart of the people of Israel) lights up with the presence of the Son of God. We know that after a few they will welcome him. They will be the leaders of the Christian community. Light has arrived throughout the world over the centuries. But there are still parts of our lives that have not received the light of the Lord. It is Mary Most Holy who brings this light. So let’s allow Mary, Jesus and St. Joseph to do this work!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
