EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 8:1-13
Gospel
Matt 8:1-13
At that time, when Jesus had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed Him. And behold, a leper came up and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if You will, You can make me clean. And stretching forth His hand Jesus touched him, saying, I will; be made clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a witness to them. Now when He had entered Capharnaum, there came to Him a centurion who entreated Him, saying, Lord, my servant is lying sick in the house, paralyzed, and is grievously afflicted. Jesus said to him, I will come and cure him. But in answer the centurion said, Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man subject to authority, and have soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. And when Jesus heard this, He marveled, and said to those who were following Him, Amen I say to you, I have not found such great faith in Israel. And I tell you that many will come from the east and from the west and will feast with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, but the children of the kingdom will be put forth into the darkness outside; there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth. Then Jesus said to the centurion, Go your way; as you have believed, so be it done to you. And the servant was healed in that hour.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DOMENICA 22 GENNAIO 2023 ORE 10.30:
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Rom 12:16-21
Solo Gesu’ salva!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Rom 12:16-21 Brethren: Do not be wise in your own eyes: do not pay back evil for evil: take care to do well not only in the eyes of God, but also before men. If it is possible, as far as is up to you, be at peace with everyone: do not defend yourselves, dear ones, but give way to wrath. Indeed it is written: Vengeance is mine: I will make justice, says the Lord. If your enemy is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give him drink: for, by doing so, you will heap burning coals upon his head. Don’t want to be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
Matt 8:1-13 At that time: Jesus having come down from the mountain, many crowds followed him: and behold a leper who came and worshiped him, saying: Lord, if you will, you can cleanse me. Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying: I want it. Be Clean. And immediately his leprosy was healed.
This Sunday the liturgy presents us with two miracles of healing. The first is that of the leper, the second the servant of the centurion. Indeed, Jesus came to bring salvation. Salvation represents the sin that disfigures man. Paralysis represents the inability to do good and love one’s neighbor. The first healed belongs to the Jewish people, while the centurion’s servant is a pagan. This means that all peoples are saved through faith! It is about the purification of the person. The wonderful words of the centurion have now become the words of the liturgy! A word of God is enough to heal a person from a distance, even a pagan who has faith. The other important aspect is the humility of the two people, both the leper and the centurion (who knows he does not belong to the chosen people!). Applied to our day, there are many sick things, the Church above all. But the Lord is already at work! But be careful not to delude yourself! It is not enough to believe oneself a member of the Piccolo Resto! Instead, we must all enter into the idea that all suffering is for us all! That we may repent and be humble. Every opportunity must be seized! It serves for our purification and to save our soul and that of our brothers! Only Jesus saves!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
