DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
2 Tim 2:8-10; 3:10-12
Carissimo: Ricordati che il Signore Gesù Cristo, progenie di Davide, è risuscitato da morte, secondo il mio Vangelo, per il quale io soffro fino ad essere incatenato come un malfattore, ma la parola di Dio non si incatena. Tutti coloro infatti che vogliono vivere piamente in Gesù Cristo, patiranno persecuzioni.
John 15:1-7
In quel tempo Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «Io sono la vera vite, il Padre mio è il coltivatore. Ogni tralcio che in me non porta frutto, lo taglierà via, e quello che porta frutto, lo poterà, affinché ne porti ancor di più.
Oggi ricordiamo un santo martire S.Pietro da Verona, o Pietro Martire, al secolo Pietro Rosini vissuto nel 1200. Combatte’ l’eresia dei catari. E’ stato un predicatore appartenente all’Ordine dei domenicani ed è venerato come santo dalla Chiesa cattolica.
Ha contribuito, come Domenico Guzman suo maestro ((1); San Domenico), alla diffusione del Rosario come forma popolare di preghiera. L’adozione da parte delle numerose Confraternite fondate da Pietro da Verona ne favorì la diffusione popolare.
Venne martirizzato sulla strada tra Como e Milano. Il suo corpo e’ custodito nella Basilica di Sant’Eustorgio, Cappella dei Portinari, a Milano.
La sua vita ci deve insegnare a vivere le sofferenze con accettazione e coraggio. E’ meglio accettare un sacrificio (una potatura) che commettere qualunque peccato!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

(1) La BVM in persona apparve a San Domenico indicandogli il Santo Rosario come l’arma più efficace contro le eresie dei Catari e degli Albigesi.

2 Tim 2: 8-10; 3: 10-12 Dearest: Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ, descendants of David, has risen from the dead, according to my Gospel, for which I suffer to the point of being chained like a criminal, but the word of God is not chained. Indeed, all those who want to live piously in Jesus Christ will suffer persecutions.
John 15: 1-7 At that time Jesus said to his disciples: “I am the true vine, my Father is the cultivator. Every branch that bears no fruit in me, he will cut off, and the one that bears fruit, he will prune, so that it will bear even more.
Today we remember a holy martyr St. Peter of Verona, or Peter Martyr, born Pietro Rosini who lived in 1200.
He fought the heresy of the Cathars. He was a preacher belonging to the Dominican Order and is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.
He contributed, like his teacher Domenico Guzman ((1); San Domenico), to the spread of the Rosary as a popular form of prayer. The adoption by the numerous Confraternities founded by Pietro da Verona favored its popular diffusion.
He was martyred on the road between Como and Milan. His body is kept in the church of Sant’Eustorgio (Chapel of Portinari, Milano).
His life must teach us to live suffering with acceptance and courage.
It is better to accept a sacrifice (a pruning) than to commit any sin!
