EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Evangelium
Luc 14:26-33.
Gospel
Luke 14:26-33.
At that time, Jesus said to the crowds, If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, and wife and children, and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. And he who does not carry his cross and follow Me, cannot be My disciple. For which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not sit down first and calculate the outlays that are necessary, whether he has the means to complete it? Lest, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all who behold begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish!’ Or what king setting out to engage in battle with another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to meet him who with twenty thousand is coming against him? Or else, whilst the other is yet at a distance, he sends a delegation and asks the terms of peace. So, therefore, every one of you who does not renounce all that he possesses, cannot be My disciple.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA –LUNEDI 24 GENNAIO 2022, ORE 8.00

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
1 Tim 6:11-16

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)
Tim 6: 11-16 Dearest: Follow justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness; fight the good fight of faith, conquer eternal life, for which you were called and you made a beautiful profession of faith in front of many witnesses.
Luke 14: 26-33 So therefore those of you who do not renounce everything that they possess cannot be my disciple ».
Today we remember St. Timothy, who was a companion of St. Paul during his missionary journeys.
Paul of Tarsus constitutes him for this bishop of Tarsus.
He was part of a network of missionaries, all greatly assisted by the Holy Spirit and ready for martyrdom for faith in Christ.
The Lord asks us for a truly great collaboration.
In fact, we must prefer it to all the other dearest affections.
It is a very demanding undertaking that can be compared to a war. It is the spiritual war we are experiencing.
Now with the tests that are required of us, we begin to understand well the sacrifice we are experiencing and that awaits us.
Especially our leader, Benedict XVI, whom we are close to in our hearts!
We will live Pentecost, we know, but first we have to live the sacrifice!
We have to be aware in order to fight with faith. Let us not delude ourselves: our climb will be difficult!
But the saints intercede for us!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
