EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Ioann 8:46-59
In illo témpore: Dicébat Iesus turbis Iudæórum: Quis ex vobis árguet me de peccáto?
Gospel
John 8:46-59.
At that time, Jesus said to the crowds of the Jews: Which of you can convict Me of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear is that you are not of God. The Jews therefore in answer said to Him, Are we not right in saying that You are a Samaritan, and have a devil? Jesus answered, I have not a devil, but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. Yet, I do not seek My own glory; there is One Who seeks and Who judges. Amen, amen, I say to you, if anyone keep My word, he will never see death. The Jews therefore said, Now we know that You have a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets, and You say, ‘If anyone keep My word he will never taste death.’ Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Whom do You make Yourself? Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing. It is My Father Who glorifies Me, of Whom you say that He is your God. And you do not know Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I shall be like you, a liar. But I know Him, and I keep His word. Abraham your father rejoiced that he was to see My day. He saw it and was glad. The Jews therefore said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham? Jesus said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I am. They therefore took up stones to cast at Him; but Jesus hid Himself, and went out from the temple.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DOMENICA 17 MARZO 2024 ORE 10.30:
Solo cosi’ Gesu’ puo’ sostenerci.
In mezzo a tanto odio ci siamo noi assieme a Maria!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!
FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
From the Letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Jews.
Brothers: Christ, who came as pontiff of future goods, through a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by human hands, that is, not of this creation.
From the Gospel according to St. John.
At that time: Jesus said to the crowd of Jews: Who among you can accuse me of sin? If I tell you the truth why don’t you believe me? Whoever is of God listens to the word of God. For this reason you do not listen to it: because you are not of God. Jesus [said]: If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing; He who glorifies me is my Father, whom you say is your God. You do not know him, but I know him, and if I said I did not know him I would be a liar, like you. But I know him and I keep his word. Abraham, your father, longed to see my day: he saw it and rejoiced. Then, [the Pharisees] picked up stones to throw them at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple. Jesus claims to be God: “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” At this time the liturgy prescribes hiding the crucifix. We must imagine that we are present at the preaching of Jesus in Jerusalem. The Pharisees hate Jesus because they do not know God. They are in fact liars because they do not know how to recognize Jesus Christ despite the miracles performed, the last one the resurrection of Lazarus. In these days we must be in intimate proximity with Jesus. Why does he sacrifice himself for us? Jesus should not have suffered for us. But he made his sacrifice only out of love. The same love that he possesses in common with the Almighty Father. The cross is now hidden from us. We must offer our answer: Jesus wants to be loved by us! This is our answer. Jesus is looking for a heart that loves him! Only in this way can Jesus support us. Only if we are close to him. Our main model is Mary, the Coredemptrix. In the midst of so much hatred we are there together with Maria!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
