In illo témpore: Venit Iesus in partes Cæsaréæ Philíppi, et interrogábat discípulos suos, dicens: Quem dicunt hómines esse Fílium hóminis? At illi dixérunt: Alii Ioánnem Baptístam, alii autem Elíam, alii vero Ieremíam aut unum ex prophétis. Dicit illis Iesus: Vos autem quem me esse dícitis? Respóndens Simon Petrus, dixit: Tu es Christus, Fílius Dei vivi. And I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dalla prima lettera di san Pietro apostolo. (sintesi)
Carissimi, un saluto per voi, che per la potenza di Dio siete custoditi, mediante la fede, in vista della salvezza ormai pronta per essere rivelata nell’ultimo tempo. Trasalite di gioia per questo, anche se adesso dovete essere molestati ancora un poco da prove di vario genere.
Dal Vangelo secondo S, Matteo.
In quel tempo, Gesù, venuto nella zona di Cesarea di Filippo, interrogava i suoi discepoli: «Chi dicono che sia il Figlio dell’uomo?».
In questo evento Gesu’ stabilisce che Pietro e’ il Vicario di Cristo, come pure i suoi legittimi successori, cioe’ canonicamente eletti e percio’ non eretici (e percio’ invalidamente eletti). Infatti Egli pronuncia la solenne promessa a Pietro e alla Chiesa che per questo e’ cattolica, cioe’ universale. Gesu’ infatti dice:
Et ego dico tibi, quia tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram ædificábo Ecclésiam meam, et portæ ínferi non prævalébunt advérsus eam!
Oggi celebriamo la festa della Cattedra di Pietro, cioe’ il suo Munus Petrinus (traduzione: ministero petrino) dato da Gesu’ solennemente a Pietro e ai successori legittimi, cioe’ che avranno la stessa fede.
Chiediamo a Pietro di non lasciarci soli. Abbiamo bisogno di un suo successore, Vicario di Cristo.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Beloved, greetings to you, who by the power of God are kept, through faith, in view of the salvation now ready to be revealed in the last time. You leap with joy at this, even if now you have to be harassed a little more by trials of various kinds.
From the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
At that time, Jesus, having come to the area of Caesarea Philippi, asked his disciples: “Who do they say the Son of man is?”. In this event Jesus establishes that Peter is the Vicar of Christ, as are his legitimate successors, that is, canonically elected and therefore not heretics (and therefore invalidly elected). In fact, He pronounces the solemn promise to Peter and to the Church which is therefore Catholic, that is, universal.
