EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 25:1-13
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis parábolam hanc: Símile erit regnum cœlórum decem virgínibus: quæ, accipiéntes lámpades suas, exiérunt óbviam sponso et sponsæ. At ille respóndens, ait: Amen, dico vobis, néscio vos. Vigiláte ítaque, quia néscitis diem neque horam.
Gospel
Matt 25:1-13
In that time Jesus said to the people: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride. And five of them were foolish, and five wise. But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps. And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. But at last came also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not. Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – SABATO 10 FEBBRAIO 2024 ORE 17.30
Scolastica avrebbe voluto prolungare i colloqui.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON FRANCO BROGI (**,1)
From the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians.
Brothers, “he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord”: for not he who recommends himself is approved, but he who the Lord recommends. I would like you to put up with a little foolishness on my part.
From the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
The Lord says: “Whoever violates even one of the commandments, even the least, [of the Law of Moses or of Jesus Christ] and teaches men so, will be considered least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who works and teaches will be held great in the kingdom of heaven.” In the epistle St. Paul says that he presented his disciples to Jesus as brides. Today we remember St. Scholatica virgin, sister of St. Benedict. He lived near Montecassino. There is a small church of the “colloquium” there. Scholastica would have liked to prolong the talks. One day the conversation lasted all night. After three days he died and St. Benedict of Montecassino saw his soul ascend to heaven. This teaches us that prayer is very important. The spirit of prayer is needed for it to be pleasing to the Lord! This is the way to Heaven!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
