EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 25:1-13
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis parábolam hanc: Símile erit regnum coelórum decem virgínibus: quæ, accipiéntes lámpades suas, exiérunt óbviam sponso et sponsæ. At ille respóndens, ait: Amen, dico vobis, néscio vos. Vigiláte ítaque, quia nescítis diem neque horam.

Gospel
Matt 25:1-13.
At that time Jesus spoke this parable to His disciples: “Then will the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom and the bride. Five of them were foolish and five wise. But the five foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, while the wise did take oil in their vessels with the lamps. Then as the bridegroom was long in coming, they all became drowsy and slept. And at midnight a cry arose, ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming, go forth to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ The wise answered, saying, ‘Lest there may not be enough for us and for you, go rather to those who sell it, and buy some for yourselves.’ Now while they were gone to buy it, the bridegroom came; and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Finally there came also the other virgins, who said, ‘Sir, sir, open the door for us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Amen I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – MARTEDI 30 GENNAIO 2024 ORE 17.30
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dal libro della Sapienza.
Ti voglio lodare, o Signore mio Re: ti voglio glorificare, o Dio mio salvatore.
Oggi festeggiamo S. Martina vergine e martire romana.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
From the book of Wisdom.
I want to praise you, O Lord my King: I want to glorify you, O God my savior.
From the Gospel according to St. Matthew. At that time, Jesus told his disciples this parable: «The kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom and the bride. But five of them were foolish and five were prudent. At the last moment, the other virgins also arrived and said: O Lord, Lord, open to us! But he replied: “Truly I say to you, I do not know you.” Therefore be vigilant, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” Today we celebrate St. Martina, virgin and Roman martyr. A church was built in his honor around the 8th century. Martyrs are the heroes of the Church and therefore in the glory of paradise. We only know a few by name, but in reality there are many. They loved Jesus to the point of giving their lives. So it’s not the length of life that matters but how life ends! The lamp (faith) must be lit when the Lord arrives! Salvation comes from the Lord! It won’t be men who save her! As for us, we must be part of the renewed Church now! We need the light of faith to always be lit!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
