EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Luc 4:23-30.
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus pharisǽis: Utique dicétis mihi hanc similitúdinem: Médice, cura teípsum: quanta audívimus facta in Caphárnaum, fac et hic in pátria tua.
Gospel
Luke 4:23-30
At that time, Jesus said to the Pharisees: You will surely quote me this proverb, ‘Physician, cure Yourself! Whatever things we have heard of as done in Capharnaum, do here also in Your own country!’ But He said, Amen I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his own country. In truth I say to you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elias, when heaven was shut up for three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land; and to none of them was Elias sent, but rather to a widowed woman in Sarepta of Sidon. And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian. And all in the synagogue, as they heard these things, were filled with wrath. And they rose up and put Him forth out of the town, and led Him to the brow of the hill, on which their town was built, that they might throw Him down headlong. But He, passing through their midst, went His way.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – LUNEDI 13 MARZO 2023 ORE 18.00:

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
4 Reg 5:1-15

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
4 Regs 5:1-15 In those days: Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master and honored, because through him the Lord had saved Syria; but this brave and rich man was a leper. Now when some marauders had gone out of Syria and taken a little girl captive from the land of Israel, she was then employed in the service of Naaman’s wife, and she said to her mistress: “Oh! if my master presented himself to the prophet who is in Samaria, he would certainly cure him of leprosy.”
Luke 4:23-30. At that time Jesus said to the Pharisees: “You will certainly tell me that proverb: ‘Doctor, heal yourself’: what we heard happened in Capernaum, do it here in your homeland as well”. Truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the time of Elf, when heaven was shut up for three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout the earth, yet to none of them was Elijah sent, but to a widow in Sarepta of Sidon; and that there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and yet it was only Naaman, a Syrian, who was cleansed.” When all in the synagogue heard these things, they were filled with anger, and when they escaped, they drove him out of the city, and drove him to the brow of the mountain on which their city was built, to throw him down. But he, passing among them, went his way.
We heard in the first reading the story of Naaman the leper. Elisha tells him to wash himself seven times in the Jordan River. At first Naaman did not want to accept. But afterwards he submits to the rite and is healed. This episode is a figure of the baptism of the pagans after the resurrection of Christ. Jesus heals the sin in the soul. Jesus lived all his youth in Nazareth. But his fellow villagers don’t recognize him, And Ejesus doesn’t see their willing soul: they only expect miracles. They even try to kill him. And Jesus goes on his way, no one can stop him anymore! Péutroppo there are people who refuse it! Let us therefore pray for the conversion of those who have not yet opened themselves to Christ!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
