EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 21:33-46
Gospel
Matt 21:33-46
At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to the multitude of the Jews and the chief priests: There was a man, a householder, who planted a vineyard, and put a hedge about it, and dug a wine vat in it, and built a tower; then he let it out to vine-dressers, and went abroad. But when the fruit season drew near, he sent his servants to the vine-dressers to receive his fruits. And the vine-dressers seized his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. Again he sent another party of servants more numerous than the first; and they did the same to these. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ But the vine-dressers, on seeing the son, said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and we shall have his inheritance.’ So they seized him, cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. When, therefore, the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-dressers? They said to Him, He will utterly destroy those evil men, and will let out the vineyard to other vine-dressers, who will render to him the fruits in their seasons. Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, has become the cornerstone; by the Lord this has been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes’? Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and will be given to a people yielding its fruits. And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but upon whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they knew that He was speaking about them. And though they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the people, because they regarded Him as a prophet.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – VENERDI 10 MARZO 2023 ORE 18.00:
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Gen 37:6-22
Così questi sogni e questi discorsi accrebbero l’invidia e l’odio.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Gen 37:6-22 At that time: Joseph said to his eleven brothers: «Listen to the dream that I had. We were binding the sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf was standing upright and firm, and yours, on the other hand, crowned it and bowed down to mine.” So the brothers said to him, “Perhaps you will be our king and we will have to be subject to you?” Thus these dreams and these speeches increased envy and hatred. He had yet another dream, and recounting it to his brothers, he said: “It seemed to me, in a dream, that the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” Having told this to his father and brothers, his father scolded him, saying, “What do you mean by this dream you had? Shall I, your mother, and your brothers have to come and bow to you to the ground?”
Matt 21:33-46 At that time Jesus told the crowds of Jews and the chief priests this parable: “There was a master who planted a vineyard, surrounded it with a hedge, dug a mill, built a tower, and gave it to the farmers to work. and went away far away. Now when the time of fruit approached, he sent his servants to the settlers to receive its fruits. But the colonists, taking those servants, who they beat, who they killed and who they stoned. Again he sent other servants in greater numbers than the first ones, and they treated them in the same way. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, “They shall have regard to my son.” But the settlers, seeing the son, said among themselves: This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and thus we will take his inheritance”. And seizing him, they drove him out of the vineyard and killed him. Now, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those settlers?». They answer: «He will make the wicked perish badly and he will allocate the vineyard to other settlers who will give him the fruit in due time».
Today’s sacred texts are particularly suitable for the Friday of Lent. In the Gospel we meet the parable of the vineyard (figure of the Kingdom of God). The master of the vineyard (God) sends his servants to gather his fruit (our good works). But they are killed. The master’s son is also killed. Therefore wicked men (figure of the people of Israel) will lose the kingdom. That it will be given to others (Christians, Gentiles, or pagans).
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
