EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 25:1-13
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis parábolam hanc: Símile erit regnum cœlórum decem virgínibus: quæ, accipiéntes lámpades suas, exiérunt óbviam sponso et sponsæ. At ille respóndens, ait: Amen, dico vobis, néscio vos. Vigiláte ítaque, quia néscitis diem neque horam.
Gospel
Matt 25:1-13
In that time Jesus said to the people: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride. And five of them were foolish, and five wise. But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps. And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. But at last came also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not. Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – VENERDI 10 FEBBRAIO 2023 ORE 17.30:
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Cor 10:17-18; 11, 1-2.
In particolare risiedette vicino all’Abazia di Montecassino.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Cor 10:17-18; 11, 1-2. Brethren, “whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord”: for it is not the one who recommends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord recommends. I would like you to put up with a little foolishness on my part. But yes, bear with me; for I am jealous of you, with the jealousy of God, having betrothed you to one husband, as a chaste virgin to be presented to Christ.
Matthew 25:1-13 At that time, Jesus told his disciples this parable: “The kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride. But five of them were foolish and five prudent.
Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Scholastica, who shares some choices with her brother Benedetto. In particular, he resided near the Abbey of Montecassino. Scholastica because intent on learning through the advice of the brother and to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ. Indeed, the Master is Jesus Christ! Indeed, listening to Jesus is the first duty of the disciples (and therefore of the monks). Once a year, St. Benedict went to meet his sister. Last time Scholastica invited her to stay for the night, but her brother refused. However due to a sudden storm (which she had invoked by praying to Jesus) he was later forced to stay! A few days later St. Benedict saw his sister’s soul flying to heaven like a dove! Today the bodies of the two brothers are buried together, physically united in death, under the main altar of the basilica of Montecassino.
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
