Luc 2:1-14
In illo témpore: Exiit edíctum a Cæsare Augústo, ut describerétur univérsus orbis. Hæc descríptio prima facta est a præside Sýriæ Cyríno: et ibant omnes ut profiteréntur sínguli in suam civitátem. Ascéndit autem et Ioseph a Galilæa de civitáte Názareth, in Iudæam in civitátem David, quæ vocatur Béthlehem: eo quod esset de domo et fámilia David, ut profiterétur cum María desponsáta sibi uxóre prægnánte. Factum est autem, cum essent ibi, impléti sunt dies, ut páreret. Et péperit fílium suum primogénitum, et pannis eum invólvit, et reclinávit eum in præsépio: quia non erat eis locus in diversório. Et pastóres erant in regióne eádem vigilántes, et custodiéntes vigílias noctis super gregem suum. Et ecce, Angelus Dómini stetit iuxta illos, et cláritas Dei circumfúlsit illos, et timuérunt timóre magno. Luke 2:1-14
At that time, there went forth a decree from Caesar Augustus that a census of the whole world should be taken. This first census took place while Cyrinus was governor of Syria. And all were going, each to his own town, to register. And Joseph also went from Galilee out of the town of Nazareth into Judea to the town of David, which is called Bethlehem – because he was of the house and family of David – to register, together with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child. And it came to pass while they were there, that the days for her to be delivered were fulfilled. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds in the same district living in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them and the glory of God shone round about them, and they feared exceedingly. And the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which shall be to all the people; for today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you, Who is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you: you will find an Infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men of good will.

Siamo quasi giunti al termine dell’Avvento, domani e’ la Vigilia del Natale.
Ancora la liturgia ci parla di San Giovanni Battista, straordinario profeta nel deserto.
Manca pero’ ancora la figura principale, cioe’ la BVM. E’ lei la Beata tra le donne, in cui si incarna il Messia e Figlio di Dio. Il principio della salvezza e’ quindi Maria Santissima che ha avuto questo privilegio straordinario!
Dobbiamo essere nella gioia della fede nell’attesa della nascita di Gesu’ Bambino. Ringraziamo il Signore, grati per averci dato il lume della fede!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

We have almost reached the end of Advent, tomorrow is Christmas Eve. The liturgy still speaks to us of St. John the Baptist, an extraordinary prophet in the desert. However, the main figure is still missing, namely the BVM. She is the Blessed among women, in whom the Messiah and Son of God is embodied. The principle of salvation is therefore Mary Most Holy who had this extraordinary privilege! We must be in the joy of faith as we await the birth of the Child Jesus. We thank the Lord, grateful for having given us the light of faith!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
