EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 13:44-52
Gospel
Matt 13:44-52
At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to His disciples: The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field; he who finds it hides it, and in his joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he finds a single pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net cast into the sea that gathered in fish of every kind. When it was filled, they hauled it out, and sitting down on the beach, they gathered the good fish into vessels, but threw away the bad. So will it be at the end of the world. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from among the just, and will cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth. Have you understood all these things? They said to Him, Yes. And He said to them, So then, every Scribe instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings forth from his storeroom things new and old.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – MARTEDI 13 DICEMBRE 2022 ORE 17.30
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Cor 10:17-18; 11:1-2

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Cor 10:17-18; 11:1-2 Brethren, “he who boasts, boasts in the Lord”: for it is not the one who recommends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord recommends. I would like you to put up with a little foolishness on my part. But yes, bear with me; for I am jealous of you, with the jealousy of God, having betrothed you to one husband, as a chaste virgin to be presented to Christ.
Matt 13:44-52 At that time, Jesus told his disciples this parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man, having found it, keeps hidden and, rejoicing at what has happened, goes to sell what he has and buys that field.
Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Lucia who offered her life and her virginity in sacrifice to God in martyrdom. And just as the Gospel says, Lucia found as a reward, the treasure that was Jesus Christ for her. of the crown of salvation The two tests she has passed are her choice to keep her virginity, with the alternative of entering into a marriage with violence, and her faith with the alternative of being spared from death by decapitation. He therefore chose martyrdom, but finding the treasure that lasts for eternity. The first reading tells us that we must not boast of ourselves or attribute titles of merit to ourselves. This is also a very beautiful teaching! We can think of these saints who, after their deaths, became famous all over the world for their sacrifice. Their devotion is very vast even today after so many centuries and very lively. Not whoever recommends himself, therefore, gets fame. But only those who are recognized by the Lord! The kingdom of heaven is a precious treasure. The angels, at the end of time, will separate the righteous from the wicked. Therefore, a sacrifice offered also to our neighbor is worth much more, for the love of the Lord!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
