In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis: Nolíte arbitrári, quia pacem vénerim míttere in terram: non veni pacem míttere, sed gládium. Veni enim separáre hóminem advérsus patrem suum, et fíliam advérsus matrem suam, et nurum advérsus socrum suam: et inimíci hóminis doméstici eius. Qui amat patrem aut matrem plus quam me, non est me dignus: et qui amat fílium aut fíliam super me, non est me dignus. Et qui non áccipit crucem suam, et séquitur me, non est me dignus. In that time: Jesus said to his disciples: Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And as a man’s enemies shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it. He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man. And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

In quel tempo disse Gesù ai suoi discepoli: «Non crediate che io sia venuto a mettere pace sulla terra. Non sono venuto a mettere la pace, ma la spada. Perché son venuto a dividere il figlio dal padre, la figlia dalla madre, la nuora dalla suocera; così che i nemici dell’uomo saranno quelli di casa. Chi ama il padre e la madre più di me, non è degno di me. E chi ama il figlio e la figlia più di me, non è degno di me. E chi non prende la sua croce e non mi segue, non è degno di me. Chi fa risparmio della sua vita, la perderà; e chi avrà perduta la sua vita per amor mio, la ritroverà. Chi riceve voi riceve me, e chi riceve me riceve Colui che mi ha mandato. Chi accoglie un profeta appunto perché profeta, riceverà premio da profeta; e chi riceve un giusto come giusto, riceverà premio da giusto. E chi avrà dato da bere, anche un solo bicchiere di acqua fresca, ad uno di questi piccoli, perché mio discepolo, in verità vi dico, non perderà la sua ricompensa».
Oggi ricordiamo San Venceslao patrono della Boemia. Vissuto nel X secolo ful il primo re cristiano della Boemia. Due anni dopo la sua incoronazione fu ucciso dal fratello mentre era in chiesa pregando. Pratico’ nella sua breve vita tutte le virtu’ cristiane.
Lascio’ come eredita’ al suo popola la fede cristiana!
Credere in Dio significa combattere contro le esigenze del mondo e anche della propria famiglia. Chi vuole seguire Dio va incontro a queste conseguenze. La pace, nel senso di tranquillita’, non e’ quella di Dio!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Today we remember St. Wenceslas patron saint of Bohemia. Lived in the 10th century ful the first Christian king of Bohemia.
Two years after his coronation he was killed by his brother while he was praying in church. In his short life he practiced all the Christian virtues, leaving the Christian faith to his people as inheritance!
Believing in God means fighting against the needs of the world and also of one’s family.
Those who want to follow God face these consequences.
Peace, in the sense of tranquility, is not that of God!
