EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Luc 18:9-14
Ieiúno bis in sábbato: décimas do ómnium, quæ possídeo.
Gospel
Luke 18:9-14
At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves as being just and despised others. Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and began to pray thus within himself: ‘O God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men, robbers, dishonest, adulterers, or even like this publican. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I possess.’ But the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went back to his home justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – ORARI S.MESSA DI GIOVEDI 18 AGOSTO 2022, ORE 18.00:

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Let’s celebrate the votive Mass dedicated to Jesus the High Priest! Priests on earth participate in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
He was sent by the Father and no one can assume the role of priest except through the Church.
Even in his life the Priest must resemble the Lord. This is the typical spirituality of the Priest.
But in recent years, starting from CV2, the role of priests has changed almost to that of social officials. Priests must rediscover their true role within the Church.
With the Great Warning all of us, and priests in particular, will realize their precise role in the Church!
So let us pray for this to happen!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
