Evangelium
Luc 12:35-40
Gospel
Luke 12:35-40
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Let your loins be girt about and your lamps burning, and you yourselves like men waiting for their master’s return from the wedding; so that when he comes and knocks, they may straightway open to him. Blessed are those servants whom the master, on his return, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, he will gird himself, and will make them recline at table, and will come and serve them. And if he comes in the second watch, and if in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants! But of this be assured, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would certainly have watched, and not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because at an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man is coming.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – ORARI S.MESSA DI GIOVEDI 4 AGOSTO 2022 ORE 8.00
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*,1)
2 Tim 4:1-8.
S.Domenico riusci’ a sconfiggere l’eresia.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Tim 4: 1-8. Dearest: I adjure you before God and Jesus Christ, who has to come to judge the living and the dead, for his coming and for his kingdom: preach the Word, insist at the right time and out of time. Reprimand, exhort, scold with patient teaching; because the time will come when people will not be able to bear sound doctrine, but to indulge their passion and out of itch for novelty, a crowd of teachers will be created, and in order not to listen to the truth they will go after fables.
Luke 12: 35-40 At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: «Your hips are girded and the lamps are lit in your hands, like those who await their master when you return from your wedding, to open him as soon as he comes and knocks.
Today we celebrate S. Domenico who lived between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. He fougth the heresy of the Albigensians (they considered themselves pure, feeling entitled to persecute Christians). He lived a life of prayer.
St. Dominic managed to defeat the heresy.
The Dominican name indicates the dog that barks announcing the truth!
That’s right: Dominicans must raise their voices in the face of dangers.
They must carry the flame of truth and the ardor of the Holy Spirit!
His example should be followed by many pastors today!
Let us pray for the intercession of St. Dominic for this to happen!
Praised be Christ! Always be praised!
