Evangelium
Ioann 2:13-25
Gospel
John 2:13-25
At that time, the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple men selling oxen, sheep and doves, and money-changers at their tables. And making a kind of whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, also the sheep and oxen, and He poured out the money of the changers and overturned the tables. And to them who were selling the doves He said, Take these things away, and do not make the house of My Father a house of business. And His disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal of Your house has eaten Me up. The Jews therefore answered and said to Him, What sign do You show us, seeing that You do these things? In answer Jesus said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. The Jews therefore said, Forty-six years has this temple been in building, and will You raise it up in three days? But He was speaking of the temple of His body. When, accordingly, He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken. Now when He was at Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover, many believed in His name, seeing the signs that He was working. But Jesus did not trust Himself to them, in that He knew all men, and because He had no need that anyone should bear witness concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.

DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – ORARI S.MESSA DI OGGI LUNEDI 28 MARZO 2022, ORE 8.00
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
3 Reg 3:16-28.
A Lui possiamo rivolgerci direttamente.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)
3 Reg 3: 16-28. In those days two women of bad life came to King Solomon, and presented themselves to him, one said: «I adjure you, O my lord! Dwelling in the same house with this woman, I gave birth with her in the room; and on the third day after my birth, she also gave birth.
Joann 2: 13-25 At that time: as the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And he found in the temple sellers of oxen, sheep and doves and money changers at their stalls. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple with the sheep and the oxen, scattered the money of the money changers, and overturned their stalls. Then he said to the dove sellers: “Take these things away from here and don’t make my Father’s house a market house.”
On this Monday the readings show us the greatness of Jesus Christ.
The reading from the Bible speaks of Solomon’s wisdom. Who can discern the real mother.
And Salomon is the figure of Jesus Christ.
In the Gospel, Jesus chases the merchants out of the temple with a bundle of ropes. It was a market allowed by the rabbis. But the temple age is over.
The new temple is Jesus himself!
We can turn to him directly. There is no Christian life if we do not turn to Jesus himself,
The Jerusalem temple was a place of compromise. But our worship must be pure, an offering of our soul, which must become a house of prayer.
Praised be Jesus Christ. Always be praised!
