EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Evangelium
Ioann 6:1-15
Gospel
John 6:1-15
At that time, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is that of Tiberias. And there followed Him a great crowd, because they witnessed the signs He worked on those who were sick. Jesus therefore went up the mountain, and sat there with His disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near. When, therefore, Jesus had lifted up His eyes and seen that a very great crowd had come to Him, He said to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread that these may eat? But He said this to try him, for He Himself knew what He would do. Philip answered Him, Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, that each one may receive a little. One of His disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to Him, There is a young boy here who has five barley loaves and two fishes; but what are these among so many? Jesus then said, Make the people recline. Now there was much grass in the place. The men therefore reclined, in number about five thousand. Jesus then took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, distributed them to those reclining; and likewise the fishes, as much as they wished. But when they were filled, He said to His disciples, Gather the fragments that are left over, lest they be wasted. They therefore gathered them up; and they filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. When the people, therefore, had seen the sign which Jesus had worked, they said, This is indeed the Prophet Who is to come into the world. So when Jesus perceived that they would come to take Him by force and make Him king He fled again to the mountain, Himself alone.

DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – ORARI S.MESSA DI OGGI DOMENICA 27 MARZO 2022, ORE 10.30
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Gal 4:22-31.
Ecco perche’ l’Eucarestia va ricevuta in ginocchio!

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)
Gal 4: 22-31. For which reason, brothers, we are not children of the slave, but of the free: and of that freedom to which Christ freed us.
Joann 6: 1-15 Satisfied that they were, he said to his disciples: Collect the leftovers, so that they do not spoil. They collected them and filled twelve baskets with fragments of the five barley loaves, which were left over to those who ate.
It is Sunday in “laetare”, it is the feast for the heavenly Jerusalem (at the time of St. Paul there was still the temple). But we belong to the heavenly Jerusalem which comes as a gift of grace from the Lord.
Our Lord, like the new Elijah but much more than the prophet, performs the miracle. The remains fill twelve baskets, 12 like the tribes of Israel.
In that place there was a lot of green grass (in Israel only in spring, not everywhere!). It is an extraordinary gift! We were created by Christ (even in our soul and in our DNA), we are fed by him! We need to be reconciled with God the Father and his Son!
The world is ashamed of Jesus!
But Jesus is the key to salvation! In this miracle there is the anticipation of the Eucharist with the real presence of the Lord. But the Eucharist is now rare!
Outside the church of Jesus Christ (who is faithful to Benedict XVI) His Body is not present! We need to ask forgiveness for the apostasy of the Church. We need to communicate. We can also do it alone, with spiritual communion (even if the transmission is blocked!).
What should be noted in the Gospel passage is Jesus’ command to collect the leftovers. In fact, the Eucharist must be treated with the utmost respect (ie with adoration) and even the smallest fragments must be preserved! Because they contain the Body of the Lord!
This is why the Eucharist must be received on one’s knees! Indeed, it is Jesus who feeds his flock!
It is a moment of recovery of strength, of reflection and of pause. To continue our walk with Christ!
Praised be Jesus Christ. Always be praised!
