At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Let your loins be girt about and your lamps burning, and you yourselves like men waiting for their master’s return from the wedding; so that when he comes and knocks, they may straight-way open to him. Blessed are those servants whom the master, on his return, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, he will gird himself, and will make them recline at table, and will come and serve them. And if he comes in the second watch, and if in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants! But of this be assured, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would certainly have watched, and not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because at an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man is coming.

Beato l’uomo che è trovato senza macchia, che non è andato dietro all’oro, e non ha sperato nel danaro e nei tesori.
Luke 12:35-40
In quel tempo: Disse Gesù ai suoi discepoli: «I vostri fianchi sian cinti ed accese nelle vostre mani le lucerne, come coloro che aspettano il loro padrone quando torni da nozze.
Abbiamo ascoltato il vangelo nel giorno della festa di San Giovanni de Matha (Faucon-de-Barcelonnette, Provenza, 23 giugno 1154; † Roma, 17 dicembre 1213). E’ stato un presbitero e fondatore francese dell’Ordine della Santissima Trinità. Si ritiro’ in preghiera in eremitaggio per tre anni.
Ebbe la visione che doveva fondare l’Ordine della Santissima Trinità, ordine che aveva come scopo l’assistenza di malati e pellegrini e il riscatto degli schiavi.
Il Vangelo dice di non addormentarci. Percio’ bisogna essere pronti. Non sappiamo a quale vigilia delle quattro vigilie della notte il Signore verra’!
L’importante e’ che ci trovi al lavoro (con i fianchi cinti) nella sua vigna!
L’eresia dei nostri giorni e’ di separare la carita’ dall’amore di Dio (cioe’ affermare di lavorare per il bene degli altri, dimenticando che Dio viene prima!). In tal modo pero’ le azioni si riducono a puro attivismo umanitario.
Le opera vanno sempre compiute con la grazia del Signore e con l’assistenza dello Spirito Santo. Le azioni puramente umane non portano a risultati duraturi e alla fine lasciano tutti quanti delusi e inariditi.
Quindi operiamo come San Giovanni de Matha per il bene degli altri, ma solo al fine di portare loro la fede non certo per favorire azioni pseudo-umanitarie!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Luke 12: 35-40 At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: «Let your hips be girded and the lamps lit in your hands, like those who await their master when you return from your wedding.
We heard the gospel on the feast day of Saint John de Matha (Faucon-de-Barcelonnette, Provence, June 23, 1154; † Rome, December 17, 1213).
He was a French presbyter and founder of the Order of the Holy Trinity.
He retired in prayer in a hermitage for three years. He had the vision that was to found the Order of the Holy Trinity, an order that had as its purpose the assistance of the sick and pilgrims and the ransom of slaves.
The Gospel tells us not to fall asleep.
So you have to be ready. We do not know on which eve of the four vigils of the night the Lord will come! The important thing is that you find us at work (with hips girded) in his vineyard!
The heresy of our day is to separate charity from the love of God (that is to say that we work for the good of others, forgetting that God comes first!).
In this way, however, the actions are reduced to pure humanitarian activism.
The works must always be done with the grace of the Lord and with the assistance of the Holy Spirit. Purely human actions do not lead to lasting results and ultimately leave everyone disappointed and withered.
So we operate like Saint John de Matha for the good of others, but only in order to bring them the faith, certainly not to favor pseudo-humanitarian actions!
