DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*,1)
1 Cor 4:9-14
Fratelli: siamo divenuti spettacolo al mondo, agli Angeli e agli uomini. Noi stolti per Cristo e voi prudenti in Cristo; noi deboli e voi forti; voi onorati e noi disprezzati.
Luc 10:1-9
In quel tempo: Il Signore scelse anche altri settantadue discepoli e li mandò a due a due innanzi a sé in ogni città e luogo dove egli era per andare. E diceva loro: «La messe è molta, ma gli operai sono pochi. Pregate dunque il padrone della messe che mandi operai per la sua mietitura. Andate!
Oggi ricordiamo San Vincenzo de’ Paoli (Vincent de Paul, Pouy, 24 aprile 1581 – Parigi, 27 settembre 1660). Grande apostolo a 360 gradi. Fu un grande missionario evangelizzatore delle campagne. Predico’ anche nelle carceri. Edifico seminari per la formazione del clero secondo le disposizioni del Concilio di Trento.
Un esempio per i nostri tempi! Ma torneranno i tempi della fede. La messe sara’ abbondante e occorreranno seminari ovunque!
Ma da cosa era animata la sua opera?
San Vincenzo fu fondatore e ispiratore di numerose congregazioni religiose, tra cui la Congregazione della missione (i cui membri sono comunemente denominati Lazzaristi), le Dame della carità e, poco più tardi, anche le Figlie della carità, di estrazione sociale più bassa rispetto alle Dame. È stato proclamato santo il 16 giugno 1737 da papa Clemente XII.
Fino al Concilio Vaticano II le Opere di San Vincenzo funzionavano ottimamente (erano indipendenti dallo Stato!). Sono state sostituite dalla Caritas (finto volontariato in realta’ pagato!) che invece e’ finanziata dallo Stato.
Ma soprattutto le opere, per funzionare davvero, debbono essere unite al Sacratissimo Cuore di Gesu!

1 Cor 4: 9-14 Brothers: we have become a spectacle to the world, to the Angels and to men. We fools for Christ and you prudent in Christ; we weak and you strong; you honored and we despised.
Luke 10: 1-9 At that time: The Lord also chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them two by two ahead of him to every city and place where he was to go. And he said to them: «The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Go!
Today we remember Saint Vincent de Paul (Vincent de Paul, Pouy, April 24, 1581 – Paris, September 27, 1660). Great apostle at 360 degrees.
He was a great missionary evangelizer of the countryside. I also preach in prisons. I build seminaries for the formation of the clergy according to the provisions of the Council of Trent.
An example for our times! But the times of faith will return. The harvest will be abundant and seminars will be needed everywhere!
But what was his work inspired by?

But above all the works, to really work, must be united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!
