Matt 11:25-30
In illo témpore: Respóndens Iesus, dixit: Confíteor tibi, Pater, Dómine coeli et terræ, quia abscondísti hæc a sapiéntibus et prudéntibus, et revelásti ea párvulis. Ita, Pater: quóniam sic fuit plácitum ante te. Omnia mihi trádita sunt a Patre meo. Et nemo novit Fílium nisi Pater: neque Patrem quis novit nisi Fílius, et cui volúerit Fílius reveláre. Veníte ad me, omnes, qui laborátis et oneráti estis, et ego refíciam vos. Tóllite iugum meum super vos, et díscite a me, quia mitis sum et húmilis corde: et inveniétis réquiem animábus vestris. At that time, Jesus spoke and said, I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You hid these things from the wise and prudent, and revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, for such was Your good pleasure. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and him to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden light.

Dalla lettera di San Paolo apostolo ai Filippesi.
Fratelli: ciò che per me era guadagno lo reputai perdita, per amore di Cristo. Che anzi stimo come perdita ogni cosa di fronte alla sublime cognizione di Gesù Cristo mio Signore.
Dal Vangelo secondo S.Matteo.
In quel tempo, Gesù prese a dire: «Ti glorifico, Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, perché hai nascosto queste cose ai saggi e agli scaltri, e le hai rivelate ai piccoli (**).
Gesu’ ci dice che il suo giogo e’ leggero (e’ facile seguire i suoi precetti.
A. Paolo eremita, che festeggiamo oggi, e’ il primo santo eremita vissuto in espiazione nel deserto per dedicarsi alla preghiera continua (come S. Antonio Abate). Visse nel IV secolo fino a 113 anni.
Ma la Chiesa oggi ha dimenticato la preghiera dei monaci eremiti. Questi santi ci insegnano come pregare il Signore!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

From the letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Philippians.
Brothers: what was gain to me I considered loss, for the love of Christ. Indeed, I esteem everything as a loss in the face of the sublime knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord.
From the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
At that time, Jesus began to say: «I glorify you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and cunning, and have revealed them to little ones (**). Jesus tells us that his yoke is light (it is easy to follow his precepts. A. Paolo the hermit, whom we celebrate today, is the first hermit saint who lived in expiation in the desert to dedicate himself to continuous prayer (like St. Anthony the Abbot). He lived in the 4th century until he was 113 years old. But the Church today has forgotten the prayer of the hermit monks. These saints teach us how to pray to the Lord!
