EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Ioannes 15:26-27; 16:1-4
Gospel
John 15:26-27; 16:1-4.
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: When the Advocate has come, Whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth Who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness concerning Me. And you also will bear witness, because from the beginning you are with Me. These things I have spoken to you that you may not be scandalized. They will expel you from the synagogues. Yes, the hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think he is offering worship to God. And these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have spoken to you, that when the time for them has come you may remember that I told you.
DALL’OMELIA (FROM THE HOMILY) – DOMENICA 12 MAGGIO 2024 ORE 10.30

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Lettura della Lettera del Beato Pietro Apostolo.
1 Pet 4:7-11
Carissimi: Siate prudenti e perseverate nelle preghiere.
FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
From the Letter of Blessed Peter the Apostle.
1 Pet 4:7-11
Dear ones: Be prudent and persevere in prayers. First of all, then, have mutual and continuous charity among yourselves: since charity covers a multitude of sins. Practice hospitality towards one another without murmuring: everyone should put the gift they have received at the service of others, as befits good dispensers of the multifaceted grace of God. Whoever speaks should do so as if they were words of God: whoever exercises a ministry , do it as if by virtue communicated by God: so that in everything God may be honored through Jesus Christ our Lord.
From the Gospel according to Saint John the Evangelist.
At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about me: and you also will bear witness, because you have been with me since from the beginning. I have said these things to you, so that you will not be scandalized. They will drive you out of the synagogues: indeed, the time will come when whoever kills you will believe they are honoring God. And they will treat you like this, because they have known neither the Father nor me. But I have told you these things, so that when that time comes, you will remember that I have predicted them to you.
Once the Ascension has passed we must remain in prayer waiting for Pentecost! Whoever does not pray cannot receive the Holy Spirit! Let us therefore reserve the necessary time for prayer which must be our main devotion.
It’s about organizing our day wisely (even if perhaps our other activities are largely dedicated to faith). Let us therefore entrust ourselves in prayer to Mary who is always very generous in rewarding us (and many times anticipates us in her graces!). Mary is our heavenly mother, as we have been taught since we were children!
So let’s be sober and pray for the Holy Spirit to make us wise. And the other activity is charity towards our loved ones and our neighbors (even those who need to be converted)!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
