FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
From the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
At that time Jesus told the crowds of the Jews and the chief priests this parable: «There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, surrounded it with a hedge, dug an oil mill in it, built a tower there, and gave it to the farmers to work. and went away far away. Jesus presents the Pharisees with the parable of the wicked tenants.
They also kill the son of the owner of the vineyard. Jesus says to the leaders of the Pharisees: “Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone?”.
The Pharisees understood that he was talking about them and tried to capture him to kill him. These are prophetic words. The rejected stone that has become the cornerstone is Jesus himself! And we hope to be the ones to welcome Jesus!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
