Ioann 2:1-11
In illo témpore: Núptiæ factæ sunt in Cana Galilǽæ: et erat Mater Iesu ibi. Vocátus est autem et Iesus, et discípuli eius ad núptias. Et deficiénte vino, dicit Mater Iesu ad eum: Vinum non habent. Et dicit ei Iesus: Quid mihi et tibi est, mulier? nondum venit hora mea. Dicit Mater eius minístris: Quodcúmque díxerit vobis, fácite. Erant autem ibi lapídeæ hýdriæ sex pósitæ secúndum purificatiónem Iudæórum, capiéntes síngulæ metrétas binas vel ternas. Dicit eis Iesus: Implete hýdrias aqua. Et implevérunt eas usque ad summum. Et dicit eis Iesus: Hauríte nunc, et ferte architriclíno. Et tulérunt. Ut autem gustávit architriclínus aquam vinum fáctam, et non sciébat unde esset, minístri autem sciébant, qui háuserant aquam: vocat sponsum architriclínus, et dicit ei: Omnis homo primum bonum vinum ponit: et cum inebriáti fúerint, tunc id, quod detérius est. At that time, a marriage took place at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now Jesus too was invited to the marriage, and also His disciples. And the wine having run short, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no wine. And Jesus said to her, What would you have me do, woman? My hour has not yet come. His mother said to the attendants, Do whatever He tells you. Now six stone water-jars were placed there, after the Jewish manner of purification, each holding two or three measures. Jesus said to them, Fill the jars with water. And they filled them to the brim. And Jesus said to them, Draw out now, and take to the chief steward. And they took it to him. Now when the chief steward had tasted the water after it had become wine, not knowing whence it was – though the attendants who had drawn the water knew, – the chief steward called the bridegroom, and said to him, Every man at first sets forth the good wine, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is poorer. But you have kept the good wine until now. This first of His signs Jesus worked at Cana of Galilee; and He manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dalla lettera di S. Paolo Apostolo ai Romani.
Fratelli: Tutti noi abbiamo carismi differenti a seconda della grazia a noi data: chi ha la profezia, se ne serva secondo le norme della fede; chi il ministero, eserciti il ministero; chi ha il dono di insegnare insegni; chi di esortare esorti; chi dà del suo lo faccia con semplicità; chi sta al comando governi con sollecitudine; chi fa opera di misericordia lo faccia con gioia.
Nel vangelo secondo Giovanni Gesu’ e’ la Cana invitato alla festa di nozze. E’ presente anche la BVM con i discepoli di Gesu’. Gesu’ compie, su richiesta della madre, il miracolo della trasformazione di acqua in vino. Per questo i suoi discepoli credettero in Gesu’.
Iniziamo il tempo dopo Natale ed Epifania, C’e’ la prima manifestazione del Signore, il suo primo miracolo Prima si sono manifestati gli angeli, i Magi e Giovanni Battista, tutti segni del Padre. I miracoli sono necessari. L’iniziativa viene da Maria. Gesu’ non pensava ancora ai miracoli (dice infatti che “non e’ ancora giunto il mio tempo”).
Il miracolo serve per far credere in lui i discepoli. Infatti noi uomini abbiamo bisogno di segni, di una nuova alleanza. Il vino e’ simbolo del sangue che Gesu’ spargera’ per noi, e quindi simbolo di grazia e carita’ verso di noi e verso i fratelli. Occorre amare infatti i nostri fratelli in Cristo, amando e pregando anche per i nemici e persecutori.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

From the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Romans. Brothers: We all have different charisms depending on the grace given to us: whoever has prophecy should use it according to the norms of faith; whoever does the ministry, exercises the ministry; whoever has the gift of teaching, let him teach; who to exhort exhorts; whoever gives of his own should do so with simplicity; whoever is in command governs promptly; whoever does a work of mercy should do so with joy.
In the Gospel according to John, Jesus is invited to the wedding feast at Cana. The BVM is also present with the disciples of Jesus. At his mother’s request, Jesus performs the miracle of transforming water into wine. This is why his disciples believed in Jesus. We begin the time after Christmas and Epiphany, There is the first manifestation of the Lord, his first miracle. First the angels, the Magi and John the Baptist manifested themselves, all signs of the Father. Miracles are necessary. The initiative comes from Maria. Jesus was not yet thinking about miracles (in fact he says that “my time has not yet come”). The miracle serves to make the disciples believe in him. In fact, we men need signs, a new alliance. Wine is a symbol of the blood that Jesus will shed for us, and therefore a symbol of grace and charity towards us and towards our brothers. Indeed, we need to love our brothers in Christ, loving and praying even for enemies and persecutors
