DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Phil 3:7-12
Fratelli: Ciò che per me era guadagno lo reputai perdita, per amore di Cristo. Che anzi stimo come perdita ogni cosa di fronte alla sublime cognizione di Gesù Cristo mio Signore. Per amore di lui ho rinunziato a tutte le cose e le stimo spazzatura, allo scopo di guadagnare Cristo, e ritrovarmi in lui non con la mia giustizia che viene dalla legge, ma con quella che viene dalla fede di Cristo Gesù, quella giustizia che viene da Dio mediante la fede; affin di conoscer Cristo. e la virtù della sua risurrezione. e la partecipazione dei suoi patimenti, divenendo a Lui conforme nella morte, per giungere, se mi riesce, alla risurrezione da morte. Non che abbia già ricevuto il premio, o che sia già perfetto, ma continuo a correre per vedere di conquistarlo; perché anch’io sono stato conquistato da Cristo Gesù.
Luc 12:32-34
In quel tempo Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «Non temere, piccolo gregge, perché è piaciuto al Padre vostro di dare a voi il regno. Vendete i vostri beni e dateli in elemosina. Fatevi delle borse che non invecchiano, un tesoro che mai vien meno nei cieli, dove il ladro non giunge e la tignuola non consuma; dove è il vostro tesoro ci sarà pure il vostro cuore».
Nella prima lettura San Paolo ci dice che ogni conoscenza e’ inutile di fronte a Gesu’ Cristo. Non che io abbia conseguito la vita eterna. Che anch’io sto proseguendo la corsa verso la salvezza che non ho ancora raggiunto.
Gesu’ esorta il Piccolo Gregge a non temere. Nell’attesa, vendete i vostri beni e investiteli nelle cose del Signore!
Ricordiamo oggi S. Pietro Alcantara per la riforma del Carmelo. Era cosi devoto che voleva partecipare al suo sacrificio con l’espiazione quotidiana. Dopo la sua morte apparve in visione a S. Teresa d’Avila per incoraggiarla a proseguire la sua missione. Tutto e’ inutile se non seguire la parola di Cristo!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Phil 3:7-12
Brethren: The things that were gain to me, these, for the sake of Christ, I have counted loss. Nay more, I count everything loss because of the excelling knowledge of Jesus Christ, my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I count them as dung that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a justice of my own, which is from the Law, but that which is from faith in Christ, the justice from God based upon faith; so that I may know Him and the power of His Resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings: become like to Him in death, in the hope that somehow I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this, or already have been made perfect, but I press on hoping that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me.
Luke 12:32-34
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Do not be afraid, little flock, for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, a treasure unfailing in heaven, where neither thief draws near nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
In the first reading Saint Paul tells us that all knowledge is useless in the face of Jesus Christ. Not that I have achieved eternal life. That I too am continuing the race towards salvation that I have not yet achieved. Jesus urges the Little Flock not to fear. While waiting, sell your possessions and invest them in the things of the Lord! Today we remember St. Peter Alcantara for the reform of Carmel. He was so devout that he wanted to participate in his sacrifice with daily atonement. After his death he appeared in a vision to St. Teresa of Avila to encourage her to continue her mission. Everything is useless if you don’t follow the word of Christ!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
