Luc 10:1-9
In illo témpore: Designávit Dóminus et alios septuagínta duos: et misit illos binos ante fáciem suam in omnem civitátem et locum, quo erat ipse ventúrus. Et dicebat illis: Messis quidem multa, operárii autem pauci. Rogáte ergo Dóminum messis, ut mittat operários in messem suam. Ite: ecce, ego mitto vos sicut agnos inter lupos. Nolíte portáre sacculum neque peram neque calceaménta; et néminem per viam salutavéritis. In quamcúmque domum intravéritis, primum dícite: Pax huic dómui: et si ibi fúerit fílius pacis, requiéscet super illum pax vestra: sin autem, ad vos revertétur. In eádem autem domo manéte, edéntes et bibéntes quæ apud illos sunt: dignus est enim operárius mercéde sua. Nolíte transíre de domo in domum. Et in quamcúmque civitátem intravéritis, et suscéperint vos, manducáte quæ apponúntur vobis: et curáte infírmos, qui in illa sunt, et dícite illis: Appropinquávit in vos regnum Dei.

At that time, the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them forth two by two before Him into every town and place where He Himself was about to come. And He said to them, The harvest indeed is, great, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into His harvest. Go. Behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry neither purse, nor wallet, nor sandals, and greet no one on the way. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ And if a son of peace be there, your peace will rest upon him; but if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they have; for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. And whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you, and cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
1 Cor 4:9-14
Fratelli: siamo divenuti spettacolo al mondo, agli Angeli e agli uomini. Noi stolti per Cristo e voi prudenti in Cristo; noi deboli e voi forti; voi onorati e noi disprezzati. Anche in questo momento noi soffriamo fame e nudità; siam presi a schiaffi, e non abbiamo ove posarci; e ci affanniamo a lavorare con le nostre mani; maledetti, benediciamo; perseguitati, sopportiamo; calunniati, preghiamo; sino ad ora trattati come la spazzatura del mondo, il rifiuto di tutti! Non per farvi arrossire vi scrivo queste cose, ma per ammonirvi come carissimi miei figlioli, in Gesù Cristo Signor nostro.

In quel tempo: Il Signore scelse anche altri settantadue discepoli e li mandò a due a due innanzi a sé in ogni città e luogo dove egli era per andare. E diceva loro: «La messe è molta, ma gli operai sono pochi. Pregate dunque il padrone della messe che mandi operai per la sua mietitura. Andate! Ecco, io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo a lupi. Non portate né borsa, né sacca, né sandali; e per la strada non salutate nessuno. In qualunque casa entrerete, dite prima di tutto: “Pace a questa casa”. E se ci sarà un figlio di pace riposerà su di lui la pace vostra, altrimenti ritornerà a voi. E nella stessa casa restate, mangiando e bevendo di quel che vi dànno; perché l’operaio è degno della sua mercede. Non girate di casa in casa. E in qualunque città entrerete, se vi accolgono, mangiate di quel che vi sarà messo davanti e guarite gli infermi che ci sono, e dite loro: “Sta per venire a voi il Regno di Dio”».
Occorre fare la volonta di Dio. Non bastano le intenzioni e le parole, ma occorrono le nostre azioni. Solo cosi’ possiamo seguire davvero Gesu’ Cristo e salvarci!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Brethren: We have been made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, but we are without honor! To this very hour we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and buffeted, and have no fixed abode. And we toil, working with our own hands. We are reviled and we bless, we are persecuted and we bear with it, we are maligned and we entreat, we have become as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now! I write these things not to put you to shame, but to admonish you as my dearest children, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is necessary to do God’s will. Intentions and words are not enough, but our actions are needed. Only in this way can we truly follow Jesus Christ and save ourselves!
