Marc 16:14-20
In illo témpore: Recumbéntibus úndecim discípulis, appáruit illis Iesus: et exprobrávit incredulitátem eórum et durítiam cordis: quia iis, qui víderant eum resurrexísse, non credidérunt. Et dixit eis: Eúntes in mundum univérsum, prædicáte Evangélium omni creatúræ. Qui credíderit et baptizátus fúerit, salvus erit: qui vero non credíderit, condemnábitur. Signa autem eos, qui credíderint, hæc sequéntur: In nómine meo dæmónia eiícient: linguis loquentur novis: serpentes tollent: et si mortíferum quid bíberint, non eis nocébit: super ægros manus impónent, et bene habébunt. Et Dóminus quidem Iesus, postquam locútus est eis, assúmptus est in cœlum, et sedet a dextris Dei. At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again. And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned. And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay their hands upon the sick, and they shall recover. And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God. But they going forth preached everywhere, the Lord working withal, and confirming the word with signs that followed.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Act 1:1-11
Nel primo libro ho raccontato, o Teofilo, tutto ciò che Gesú fece ed insegnò dall’inizio fino al giorno in cui, dati per mezzo dello Spirito Santo i suoi ordini agli Apostoli che aveva eletti, fu assunto in cielo. Ad essi ancora si mostrò vivo dopo la sua passione, dando molte prove, apparendo ad essi durante quaranta giorni, e parlando del regno di Dio. Ed insieme a mensa, comandò loro di non allontanarsi da Gerusalemme, ma di aspettare la promessa del Padre, la quale avete udita per bocca mia: poiché invero Giovanni battezzò con l’acqua, ma voi sarete battezzati nello Spirito Santo di qui a non molti giorni. Ma i convenuti lo interrogavano, dicendo: Signore, ricostituirai allora il regno di Israele? Egli però disse loro: Non appartiene a voi sapere i tempi e i momenti che il Padre ha riservati in suo potere: ma lo Spirito Santo discenderà sopra di voi, vi comunicherà la sua forza e voi mi sarete testimoni in Gerusalemme, in tutta la Giudea e la Samaria, fino all’estremo della terra. E detto questo si elevò da terra e una nuvola lo nascose ai loro occhi. E mentre stavano fissamente mirando lui che saliva in cielo, ecco due uomini in bianche vesti si avvicinarono ad essi e dissero: Uomini di Galilea, perché state mirando verso il cielo? Quel Gesú che da voi ascese in cielo, verrà così come lo avete veduto salire al cielo.
Marc 16:14-20
In quel tempo: Gesú apparve agli undici, mentre erano a mensa, e rinfacciò ad essi la loro incredulità e durezza di cuore, perché non avevano prestato fede a quelli che lo avevano visto resuscitato. E disse loro: Andate per tutto il mondo: predicate il vangelo ad ogni creatura. Chi crederà e sarà battezzato, sarà salvo: chi poi non crederà, sarà condannato. Ed ecco i miracoli che accompagneranno coloro che hanno creduto: nel mio nome scacceranno i demoni, parleranno lingue nuove, maneggeranno serpenti, e se avran bevuto qualcosa di mortifero non farà loro male: imporranno le mani ai malati e questi guariranno. E il Signore Gesú, dopo aver parlato con essi, fu assunto in cielo e si assise alla destra di Dio. Essi se ne andarono a predicare per ogni dove, mentre il Signore li assisteva e confermava la loro parola con i miracoli che la seguivano.
Recitato il Vangelo, viene spento il Cero pasquale, ne più si accende, se non il Sabato di Pentecoste per la benedizione del Fonte.
Siamo ancora nel periodo dell’Ascensione. Abbiamo infatti riascoltato le letture dell’Ascensione.
Gli apostoli chiedono a Gesu’ quando sara’ ristabilito il regno di Israele, da diversi secoli non piu’ esistente. Il Signore risponde che non spetta a noi conoscere gli eventi futuri.
Anche noi non possiamo conoscerli. Ma piuttosto, dice Gesu’, dovete ricevere tra breve lo Spirito Santo. I veri fedeli del Signore sono infatti coloro che riceveranno lo Spirito Santo. Spirito Santo che permettera” la tutti noi di essere testimoni del Signore ovunque nel mondo. Solo cosi’ potra’ rinnovarsi la Chiesa!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Acts 1:1-11
The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began to do and to teach, until the day on which, giving commandments by the Holy Ghost to the Apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up: To whom also He shewed Himself alive after His Passion by many proofs, for forty days appearing to them, and speaking of the Kingdom of God. And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard – saith he – by My mouth; For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. They therefore who were come together asked him, saying: Lord, wilt Thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? But He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or moments which the Father hath put in his own power: but you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth. And when He had said these things, while they looked on, He was raised up: and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they were beholding him going up to heaven, behold two men stood by them in white garments, who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as you have seen him going into heaven.

We are still in the Ascension period. In fact, we have re-listened to the readings of the Ascension.
The apostles ask Jesus when the kingdom of Israel, which has not existed for several centuries, will be re-established. The Lord replies that it is not up to us to know future events.
We too cannot know them. But rather, says Jesus, you must soon receive the Holy Spirit. The true faithful of the Lord are in fact those who will receive the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit who will enable all of us to be witnesses of the Lord everywhere in the world. Only in this way can the Church be renewed!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
