Et ingréssus Angelus ad eam dixit: Ave, grátia plena; Dóminus tecum: benedícta tu in muliéribus. Quæ cum audísset, turbáta est in sermóne eius: et cogitábat, qualis esset ista salutátio. Et ait Angelus ei: Ne tímeas, María, invenísti enim grátiam apud Deum: ecce, concípies in útero et páries fílium, et vocábis nomen eius Iesum.

When she had heard him she was troubled at his word, and kept pondering what manner of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace with God. Behold, you shall conceive in your womb and shall bring forth a son; and you shall call His name Jesus.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)

Oggi e’ una data molto importante: si tratta della ricorrenza della prima apparizione della BVM a Lourdes (11 febbraio 1858), apparizioni che durarono fino all’11 luglio , festa della Madonna del Carmelo. Maria apparve a S. Bernadette all’ingresso di una grotta che era rifugio di animali._. La apparve la Madonna vestita di luce (di bianco) con una fascia azzurra attorno ai fianchi e due rose d’oro ai piedi.

La grotta rappresenta il mondo lontano da Dio (e quindi sporco del peccato). Maria viene a consolare l’umanita’ e indicare una via: il santo rosario! L’altro aspetto unito al primo e’ la penitenza.

Nelle 18 apparizioni i messaggi della Madonna sono brevi. Nell’apparizione del 25 marzo svelo’ il suo none “io sono l’Immacolata Concezione”. Un dogma proclamato da Pio IX quattro anni prima nel 1854.

C’e’ nelle apparizioni una particolare vicinanza della BVM agli ammalati. Preghiamo dunque Maria che faccia dono di grazie abbondanti!

Today is a very important date: it is the anniversary of the first apparition of the BVM in Lourdes (February 11, 1858), apparitions that lasted until July 11, the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Mary appeared to St. Bernadette at the entrance of a cave which was a refuge for animals._. The Madonna appeared dressed in light (in white) with a blue band around her hips and two golden roses at her feet. The cave represents the world far from God (and therefore dirty with sin). Mary comes to console humanity and show a way: the holy rosary! The other aspect united to the first is penance. In the 18 apparitions, Our Lady’s messages are brief. In the apparition of March 25 he revealed his name “I am the Immaculate Conception”. A dogma proclaimed by Pius IX four years earlier in 1854. There is in the apparitions a particular closeness of the BVM to the sick. Let us therefore pray to Mary that she give abundant graces!
