Luc 14:26-33.
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus turbis: Si quis venit ad me, et non odit patrem suum, et matrem, et uxórem, et fílios, et fratres, et soróres, adhuc autem et ánimam suam, non potest meus esse discípulus. Et qui non báiulat crucem suam, et venit post me, non potest meus esse discípulus. Quis enim ex vobis volens turrim ædificáre, non prius sedens cómputat sumptus, qui necessárii sunt, si hábeat ad perficiéndum; ne, posteáquam posúerit fundaméntum, et non potúerit perfícere, omnes, qui vident, incípiant illúdere ei, dicéntes: Quia hic homo cœpit ædificáre, et non pótuit consummáre? Aut quis rex itúrus commíttere bellum advérsus álium regem, non sedens prius cógitat, si possit cum decem mílibus occúrrere ei, qui cum vigínti mílibus venit ad se? Luke 14:26-33.
At that time, Jesus said to the crowds, If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, and wife and children, and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. And he who does not carry his cross and follow Me, cannot be My disciple. For which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not sit down first and calculate the outlays that are necessary, whether he has the means to complete it? Lest, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all who behold begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish!’ Or what king setting out to engage in battle with another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to meet him who with twenty thousand is coming against him? Or else, whilst the other is yet at a distance, he sends a delegation and asks the terms of peace. So, therefore, every one of you who does not renounce all that he possesses, cannot be My disciple.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
1 Tim 6:11-16
Carissimo: Segui la giustizia, la pietà, la fede, la carità, la pazienza, la mansuetudine; combatti la buona battaglia della fede, conquista la vita eterna, per la quale sei stato chiamato ed hai fatta bella professione di fede dinanzi a molti testimoni.
Luc 14:26-33
In quel tempo disse Gesù alle turbe: «Se uno viene a me senza disamare suo padre e sua madre, moglie e figli, fratelli e sorelle, e perfino la sua vita, non può essere mio discepolo. E chi non porta la sua croce e mi segue non può essere mio discepolo.
Oggi ricordiamo San Timoteo un garnde collaboratore di San Paolo. Fu vescovo e martire. San Paolo lo incontro a Istra. Da lui fu ordinato vescovo di Efeso. San Paolo si raccomznda che onori il suo incarico fino al ritorno di Cristo.
Ma Cristo nel Vangelo ci dice che chi vuole seguirlo deve abbandonare tutti i suoi beni terreni ed essere pronto a portare la sua croce. Queste sono condizioni sine qua non poste da Gesu’ Cristo.
Si tratta di condizioni molto importanti che distinguono i veri dai falsi discepoli (e quindi fedeli) in Cristo. Sono coloro che portano la croce e non la evitano.
Chiediamo quindi oggi l’intercessione di questo santo vescovo per la gerarchia ecclesiastica affinche coloro che, a suo tempo, hanno ricevuto l’incarico sacerdotale o episcopale, con la chiamata e vocazione da Gesu’ Cristo, riprendano in mano in pienezza l’incarico ricevuto e aiutino il popolo Cristiano che in questo momento si trova in particolari difficolta’ ed e’ confuso, sconcertato ed addirittura scandalizzato dai molti esempi esempi negativi e scandalosi dati dagli stessi pastori.
Per questo preghiamo per la redenzione dei sacerdoti e vescovi!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

1 Tim 6:11-16 Dearest: Follow justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness; fight the good fight of faith, win eternal life, for which you were called and you made a beautiful profession of faith before many witnesses.
Luke 14:26-33 At that time Jesus said to the crowds: «If anyone comes to me without disliking his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Today we remember San Timothy a great collaborator of San Paolo. He was bishop and martyr. Saint Paul I meet him in Istra. By him he was ordained bishop of Ephesus. St. Paul is recommended to honor his office until the return of Christ. But Christ in the Gospel tells us that whoever wants to follow him must abandon all his earthly possessions and be ready to bear his cross. These are sine qua non conditions set by Jesus Christ. These are very important conditions that distinguish the true from the false disciples (and therefore faithful) in Christ. They are the ones who carry the cross and do not shun it. We therefore ask today for the intercession of this holy bishop for the ecclesiastical hierarchy so that those who, in his time, received the priestly or episcopal office, with the call and vocation from Jesus Christ, fully take back the office received and help the Christian people who at this moment find themselves in particular difficulties and who are confused, disconcerted and even scandalized by the many negative and scandalous examples given by the pastors themselves. For this we pray for the redemption of priests and bishops!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
