EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Ioann 2:1-11
Gospel
John 2:1-11
At that time, a marriage took place at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now Jesus too was invited to the marriage, and also His disciples. And the wine having run short, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no wine. And Jesus said to her, What would you have me do, woman? My hour has not yet come. His mother said to the attendants, Do whatever He tells you. Now six stone water-jars were placed there, after the Jewish manner of purification, each holding two or three measures. Jesus said to them, Fill the jars with water. And they filled them to the brim. And Jesus said to them, Draw out now, and take to the chief steward. And they took it to him. Now when the chief steward had tasted the water after it had become wine, not knowing whence it was – though the attendants who had drawn the water knew, – the chief steward called the bridegroom, and said to him, Every man at first sets forth the good wine, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is poorer. But you have kept the good wine until now. This first of His signs Jesus worked at Cana of Galilee; and He manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DOMENICA 15 GENNAIO 2023 ORE 10.30:

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Rom 12:6-16
Iniziamo oggi il tempo successivo all’Epifania.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Rom 12:6-16 Brothers: We have different gifts according to the grace given to us: whoever has the prophecy, should use it according to the norms of faith; who the ministry, exercise the ministry; who has the gift of teaching teach; who to exhort exhort; whoever gives of his own should do it with simplicity; whoever is in command governs promptly; let those who do works of mercy do it with joy.
John 2:1-11 At that time: There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the Mother of Jesus was there. And Jesus was also invited with his disciples to the wedding. When the wine ran out, the Mother of Jesus said to him: They have no more wine. And Jesus answered: What have I to do with you, woman? My time hasn’t come yet. His Mother said to the servants: Do whatever he tells you.
Today we begin the time after Epiphany. The Gospel passage speaks of the first miracle performed by Jesus. Jesus’ miracles are not done by consensus. The miracle has a particular meaning concerning pure and therefore sacred water (which represents the law of Moses and the ten commandments) and wine, that is the blood of Christ. We must first use the water of purification and observance of God’s Law. Wine is superior, it indicates celebration and friendship. It is therefore a question of the grace of the Holy Spirit which makes us love the things of God and his graces. So Jesus came to bring grace, which is much more than observance. Today many Christians would like grace without observance. But this is a mistake! The presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary is very significant. The Madonna is called a woman, as the new Eve. Mary’s mission also extends to all of humanity: humanity that is thirsty and asks Mary for help! But men now no longer even know the water of the law and of observance (which is no longer there!). So Mary’s intervention is fundamental! Mary therefore anticipates the intervention of Jesus Christ! In fact, first we will have the triumph of Mary’s immaculate heart. For our part, humble prayer is needed! (watch out for the appearances of false humility!)
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
