Gospel
Matt 4:18-22
At that time, as Jesus was walking by the sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea – for they were fishermen -. And He said to them, Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. And at once they left the nets, and followed Him. And going farther on, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. And immediately they left their nets and their father, and followed him.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DI MERCOLEDI 30 NOVEMBRE 2022 ORE 17.30:
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Matt 4:18-22

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Matt 4:18-22 At that time, walking along the Sea of Galilee, Jesus saw two brothers: Simon called Peter and Andrew, his brother, who were casting their nets into the sea, since they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” And they immediately left their nets and followed him. And going on from there, he saw two other brothers: James of Zebedee and John his brother, who were intent on arranging the nets in a boat with their father Zebedee, and he called them. And they immediately left the boat and their father and followed him.
The Gospel speaks to us of the following of Jesus by the first apostles. Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Andrew the first apostle, brother of Saint Peter. He was crucified with an inclined cross, known as the cross of Sant’Andrea. He was a very fervent apostle. He lived with the Lord for three whole years sharing everything with him. After the descent of the Holy Spirit they felt full of love for Jesus Christ and for the cross. For this reason the apostles carried the cross with faith and love. Sant’Andrea is an example for us to understand the experience of the cross.
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
