William Hunt (c.a. 1851-1854, movimento preraffaelita)
Let your loins be girt about and your lamps burning, and you yourselves like men waiting for their master’s return from the wedding; so that when he comes and knocks, they may straight-way open to him.

EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Luc 12:35-40
Gospel
Luke 12:35-40
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Let your loins be girt about and your lamps burning, and you yourselves like men waiting for their master’s return from the wedding; so that when he comes and knocks, they may straight-way open to him. Blessed are those servants whom the master, on his return, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, he will gird himself, and will make them recline at table, and will come and serve them. And if he comes in the second watch, and if in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants! But of this be assured, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would certainly have watched, and not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because at an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man is coming.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DI GIOVEDI 10 NOVEMBRE 2022 ORE 17.30:
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Eccli 31:8-11

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Eccli 31: 8-11 Blessed is the man who is found without blemish, who did not go after gold, and did not hope for money and treasures. Who is this and will we give him praise? Because he certainly did wonders in his life
Luke 12: 35-40 At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: «Your hips are girded and the lamps are lit in your hands, like those who wait for their master when you return from your wedding, to open him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he arrives, will find awake.
Today we remember S. Andrea Avellino of the Theatine family. I abandon my career as a lawyer to devote myself to the religious life.
The man who was also tried with wealth and power but never abused it.
We are tested both in difficulties and in pleasure and well-being.
In the Gospel the Lord says: “Blessed are those servants who will always be found ready” with the lanterns lit, that is faith, and with their hips girded, that is, ready to work for Jesus Christ!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
