In illo témpore: Exsúrgens María ábiit in montána cum festinatióne in civitátem Iuda: et intrávit in domum Zacharíæ et salutávit Elísabeth. Et factum est, ut audivit salutatiónem Maríæ Elísabeth, exsultávit infans in útero eius: et repléta est Spíritu Sancto Elísabeth, et exclamávit voce magna et dixit: Benedícta tu inter mulíeres, et benedíctus fructus ventris tui. At that time, Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town of Juda. And she entered the house of Zachary and saluted Elizabeth. And it came to pass, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe in her womb leapt. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and cried out with a loud voice, saying, Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And how have I deserved that the Mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, the moment that the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leapt for joy. And blessed is she who has believed, because the things promised her by the Lord shall be accomplished. And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.

Cant 2:8-14
Eccolo venire, saltellando pei monti, balzando pei colli, simile il mio diletto ad un capriolo, ad un cerbiatto. Eccolo, sta dietro alla nostra parete, fa capolino dalla finestra, adocchia dalle grate. Ecco il mio diletto mi parla: «Alzati, affrettati, diletta mia, colomba mia, bella mia, e vieni. Poiché, vedi, l’inverno è già passato, la pioggia è cessata, è andata; i fiori si mostrano per la campagna, il tempo della potatura è venuto; si ode per la nostra contrada il tubar della tortorella; il fico ha messo fuori i suoi frutti primaticci; le vigne in fiore mandano il loro profumo. Sorgi, diletta mia, bella mia, e vieni. Sorgi, diletta mia, bella mia, e vieni. Colomba mia, che stai nelle fessure delle rocce, nei nascondigli della balza, mostrami il tuo viso, fammi sentir la tua voce, poiché la tua voce è soave, il tuo viso è leggiadro!

Or in quei giorni Maria si mise in viaggio per recarsi frettolosamente alla montagna, in una città di Giudea, ed entrò in casa di Zaccaria e salutò Elisabetta.
Oggi celebriamo la festa della visitazione di Maria a Elisabetta. Maria, sapendo che Eliusabetta e’ incinta (lo ha saputo dall’angelo), va a raggiunferla. L’incontro e’ una manifestazione di gioia, l’incontro di Gesu-Messia-Dio con il suo popolo fedele, la famiglia di Zaccaria. La Chiesa riceve la visita del suo Sposo!
La stessa gioia che Lui infonde nel nostro animo quando ci visita come oggi.
L’incontro avviene tramite Maria. E nuovamente anche il suo ritorno viene annunciato tramite Maria.
Ci sono i segni di morte, ma anche quelli della nuova vita (il canto della tortora, il volto dell’anima diletta) che salutano Maria. L’avvento del trionfo del Cuore Immacolato di Maria segna l’annuncio di Maria!
Ma occorre che ci risvegliamo pienamente in attesa del ritorno del Messia!
Sia lodato Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Here he is, he stands behind our wall, peeps out of the window, eyes through the grates. Behold my beloved speaks to me: «Get up, hurry, my beloved, my dove, my beautiful, and come. Since, you see, winter has already passed, the rain has stopped, it’s gone; the flowers show themselves in the countryside, the time for pruning has come; the cooing of the turtledove is heard in our district; the fig tree has put out its early fruits; the blossoming vines send their perfume. Arise, my beloved, my beautiful, and come. Arise, my beloved, my beautiful, and come. My dove, who are in the cracks of the rocks, in the hiding places of the cliff, show me your face, let me hear your voice, since your voice is sweet, your face is graceful!

Today we celebrate the feast of Mary’s visitation to Elizabeth. Maria, knowing that Eliusabetta is pregnant (she learned it from the angel), goes to join her. The meeting is a manifestation of joy, the meeting of Jesus-Messiah-God with his faithful people, the family of Zechariah.
The Church receives a visit from her Spouse! The same joy that he infuses in our souls when he visits us as he does today.
The meeting takes place through Mary. And once again his return is also announced through Mary.
There are the signs of death, but also those of new life (the song of the dove, the face of the beloved soul) that greet Mary.
The advent of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary marks the announcement of Mary!
But we need to fully awaken awaiting the return of the Messiah!
