1 Pet 5:1-4; 5:10-11
Carissimi: Sacerdote anch’io e teste della Passione di Cristo e chiamato ad aver parte alla futura gloria, io scongiuro i sacerdoti che sono tra voi: Pascete il gregge di Dio, che vi è affidato, governandolo non per forza, ma volentieri per amor di Dio; non per il vil guadagno, ma con animo generoso; non come dominatori delle Chiese, ma come sinceri modelli del gregge; e così, quando apparirà il principe dei pastori, riceverete l’incorruttibile corona della gloria.

E io dico a te che tu sei Pietro, e su questa pietra edificherò la mia Chiesa, e le porte degli inferi non prevarranno contro di essa.
Ricordiamo Pio V vissuto nel 1500 proprio mentre infuriava la battaglia da parte del protestantesimo e dell’Islam. Pio V riporta vittorie notevoli specialmente grazie al rinnovamento attuato dal Concilio di Trento. Pio V unifica il rito latino della liturgia: si tratta di una grande opera atta a rianimare il corpo della chiesa. Famosa e’ la vittoria di Lepanto (1571) contro gli ottomani.
“Le porte degli inferi non prevarranno”: questa frase di Gesu’ ci guida anche ora nella battaglia che conduciamo a favore di Benedetto XVI. Noi siamo con Maria e PPBXVI nel deserto. Si tratta del deserto della preghiera (siamo solo noi a pregare!).
Attenzione! Molti social stanno cercando solo l’ascolto (audience) e non il fine della preghiera vera! Deve guidarci la nostra condottiera, la Beata Vergine Maria!

We remember Pius V who lived in 1500 just as the battle between Protestantism and Islam was raging. Pius V achieved notable victories both thanks to the renewal of the Council of Trent.
Pius V unifies the Latin rite of the liturgy: it is a great work designed to revive the body of the church. The victory of Lepanto (1571) against the Ottomans is famous.
“The gates of hell will not prevail”: this sentence of Jesus guides us even now in the battle we wage in favor of Benedict XVI.
We are with Mary and PPBXVI in the desert. It is the desert of prayer (only we pray!).
But pay attention! Many social networks are looking only for listening (audience) and not for the purpose of true prayer! Our leader, the Blessed Virgin Mary, must guide us!
