DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Ezech 1:10-14
Ecco l’aspetto di ciascuno dei quattro esseri viventi: tutti e quattro avevano faccia di uomo e di leone alla loro destra; tutti e quattro avevano faccia di bove [toro] a sinistra; al disopra di tutti e quattro v’era la faccia dell’aquila. Così era il loro aspetto. Le loro ali si stendevano in alto, due ali di ciascuno si univano, e due coprivano il corpo. Ciascuno di essi andava in direzione della sua faccia, andavano dove portava l’impeto dello spirito, e nel camminare non si volgevano indietro.
Luc 10:1-9
In quel tempo: Il Signore scelse anche altri settantadue discepoli e li mandò a due a due innanzi a sé in ogni città e luogo dove egli era per andare. E diceva loro: «La messe è molta, ma gli operai sono pochi. Pregate dunque il padrone della messe che mandi operai per la sua mietitura. Andate! Ecco, io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo a lupi.
Celebriamo San Marco evangelista, la cui predicazione tramite il suo vangelo si protrae nei secoli fino alla fine del mondo.
Oggi c’e’ la decisione di inviare i 72 discepoli per tutta la Palestina, cioe’ riservata al popolo ebraico. Tra questi, la tradizione vuole che ci fosse and San Marco evangelista.
Nell’epistola c’e la visione del profeta Ezechiele riguardo ai quattro esseri viventi, che nella tradizione hanno assunto il simbolo dei quattro evangelisti. Tra questi c’e’ anche San Marco evangelista, con il simbolo del leone, il cui corpo e’ ustodito dal IX secolo a Venezia nella basilica omonima.
Il leone e’ anche (il simbolo di) Giovanni Battista, leone del deserto.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Hezek 1: 10-14 Here is the appearance of each of the four living beings: all four had the face of a man and a lion on their right; all four had the face of an ox [bull] on the left; above all four was the face of the eagle. So was their appearance. Their wings spread high, two wings of each joined, and two covered the body. Each of them went in the direction of his face, they went where the impetus of the spirit led, and as they walked they did not look back.
Luke 10: 1-9 At that time: The Lord also chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them two by two ahead of him to every city and place where he was to go. And he said to them: «The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Go! Behold, I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.
We celebrate St. Mark the Evangelist, whose preaching through his gospel continues over the centuries until the end of the world.
