EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
S.Matt.
Gospel
St.Matth.
At that time, when Jesus drew nigh to Jerusalem, and was come to Bethphage, unto Mount Olivet, then He sent two disciples, saying to them: Go ye into the village that is over against you, and immediately you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to Me. And if any man shall say anything to you, say ye, that the Lord hath need of them: and forthwith he will let them go. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: Tell ye the daughter of Sion: Behold thy King cometh to thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of her that is used to the yoke. And the disciples going, did as Jesus commanded them. And they brought the ass and the colt, and laid their garments upon them, and made him sit thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way: and others cut boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way, and the multitudes that went before and that followed, cried, saying: Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DOMENICA 24 MARZO 2024 ORE 10.30:

Restando fedeli fino all’ultimo!
FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
From the Epistle of St. Paul the Apostles to the Philippians. Brothers: Have in yourselves the same sentiments with which Christ Jesus was animated: who, being in the form of God, did not consider his being equal to God a robbery, but annihilated himself, taking the form of a servant, a similar fact to men, and by condition recognized as a man.
Continuation +︎ of the Holy Gospel sec. St. Matthew. At that time: As he approached Jerusalem, having arrived at Bethphage, near the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying to them: «Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find there a donkey tied with her colt: untie her and bring her to me. And if anyone says anything to you, say; – the Lord needs it; and he will immediately release them to you.” Now all this happened so that what was said by the Prophet would be fulfilled: “Tell the daughter of Zion: Behold, your King comes to you, meek, sitting on a donkey and the colt of a mare.” The Disciples went and did as Jesus told them. They led the donkey and the colt, put their cloaks on them and Jesus to sit on them. And many people spread their cloaks along the road, while others cut branches from the trees and scattered them on the road, while the crowds who preceded and followed shouted: «Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew. He finally arrived at a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples: J. Stop here, while I go further on to pray. C. And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to become sad and sad.
It is Palm Sunday also known as the Second Sunday of Passion. In fact we read the entire story of the Passion. Palm trees are the symbol of royalty, of which Jesus had demonstrated, especially the resurrection of his friend Lazarus, resurrected four days after his death. Everyone hails him as king. In fact, he takes care of the good of everyone. Anticipate triumph and glory. It is a preview of the celebration after his resurrection. But Christ’s victory must also be ours as his disciples! With his help we will win! There was passion, because each of us must carry the cross. We too will win with Christ! We are living in the time of the passion of the Church! But with the olive tree in hand we can say we will win! Remaining faithful to the end! Let us therefore prepare ourselves for the tests, ready to correct ourselves immediately if we fall into temptation!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
