Ioann 8:12-20
In illo témpore: Locútus est Iesus turbis Iudæórum, dicens: Ego sum lux mundi: qui séquitur me, non ámbulat in ténebris, sed habébit lumen vitæ. Dixérunt ergo ei pharisǽi: Tu de te ipso testimónium pérhibes: testimónium tuum non est verum. Respóndit Iesus et dixit eis: Et si ego testimónium perhíbeo de meípso, verum est testimónium meum: quia scio, unde veni et quo vado: vos autem nescítis, unde vénio aut quo vado. Vos secúndum carnem iudicátis: ego non iúdico quemquam: et si iúdico ego, iudícium meum verum est, quia solus non sum: sed ego et, qui misit me, Pater. John 8:12-20
At that time, Jesus spoke to the multitudes of the Jews, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me does not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said to Him, You bear witness to Yourself. Your witness is not true. Jesus answered and said to them, Even if I bear witness to Myself, My witness is true, because I know where I came from and where I go. But you do not know where I came from or where I go. You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. And even if I do judge, My judgment is true, because I am not alone, but with Me is He Who sent Me, the Father. And in your Law it is written that the witness of two persons is true. It is I Who bear witness to Myself, and He Who sent Me, the Father, bears witness to Me. They therefore said to Him, Where is your Father? Jesus answered, You know neither Me nor My Father. If you knew Me, you would then know My Father also. Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, while teaching in the temple. And no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dal libro del profeta Isaia.
Questo dice il Signore: «Nel tempo della grazia ti ho esaudito, nel giorno della salvezza ti ho soccorso e custodito, ti ho stabilito pegno d’alleanza col popolo, per ristorare la terra, per entrare in possesso delle eredità dissipate: per dire a quelli che sono in catene: “Andate liberi”; e a quelli che sono nelle tenebre: “Venite alla luce”. Pascoleranno liberamente e avranno pascoli in tutte le pianure.
Dal Vangelo secondo S. Giovanni.
Allora cosi parlò Gesù alle turbe dei Giudei mentre si trovava nel gazofilacio (il luogo del Tempio di Gerusalemme dove si custodivano il tesoro e le offerte): «Io sono la luce del mondo: chi mi segue non camminerà nelle tenebre; ma avrà la luce della vita». Gli dissero allora i Farisei: «Tu rendi testimonianza di te stesso: la tua testimonianza non vale». Gesù replicò loro: «Anche se io rendo testimonianza di me stesso, è valida la mia testimonianza, perché so donde io venga, e dove io vada. Voi giudicate secondo la carne: io non giudico nessuno; ma se giudico io, il mio giudizio è retto, perché non sono solo, ma con me è il Padre che mi ha inviato. E nella vostra legge, sta appunto scritto che è valida la testimonianza di due persone. Or a render testimonianza di me stesso, ci sono io ed il Padre che mi ha mandato»
Domani inizia il tempo di Passione il tempo delle sofferenze di Cristo.
Isaia profetizza nella lettura che il Signore beatifichera’ il suo popolo. Se ci manteniamo puri il Signore ci assistera’. Gesu’ afferma che chi lo segue avra’ la luce della vita e la vita eterna! Gesu’ e’ laluce del mondo!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

From the book of the prophet Isaiah.
This says the Lord: «In the time of grace I have heard you, on the day of salvation I have helped you and protected you, I have established you as a pledge of alliance with the people, to restore the earth, to come into possession of the squandered inheritances: to say to those who are in chains: “Go free”; and to those who are in darkness: “Come into the light.” They will graze freely and have pastures in all the plains.
From the Gospel according to St. John.
Then Jesus spoke thus to the crowds of Jews while he was in the gazophilacium (the place in the Temple of Jerusalem where the treasure and offerings were kept): «I am the light of the world: whoever follows me will not walk in darkness; but he will have the light of life.” Then the Pharisees said to him: “You bear witness about yourself: your testimony is worthless.” Jesus replied to them: «Even if I bear witness about myself, my testimony is valid, because I know where I come from and where I am going. Ye judge according to the flesh: I judge no man; but if I judge, my judgment is right, because I am not alone, but the Father who sent me is with me. And in your law, it is precisely written that the testimony of two people is valid. Now to bear witness of myself, there are I and the Father who sent me” Tomorrow begins the time of Passion, the time of Christ’s sufferings. Isaiah prophesies in the reading that the Lord will beatify his people. If we keep ourselves pure the Lord will help us. Jesus says that whoever follows him will have the light of life and eternal life! Jesus is the light of the world!
