DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
Dal libro dei Numeri.
In quei giorni: I figli d’Israele si radunarono contro Mosè ed Aronne; e levatisi in sedizione presero a dire: «Dateci acqua da bere». Mosè ed Aronne, lasciata la moltitudine, entrarono nel Tabernacolo dell’alleanza e prostratisi bocconi per terra, alzarono la voce al Signore, dicendo: «Signore Dio, ascolta il grido di questo popolo ed apri loro il tuo tesoro, una fonte d’acqua viva; si dissetino e cessino di mormorare».
Dal Vangelo secondo S. Giovanni.
In quel tempo Gesù giunse ad una città della Samaria, detta Sichar, vicino alla tenuta che da Giacobbe fu data al suo figlio Giuseppe. Là vi era pure il pozzo di Giacobbe. Or dunque Gesù, stanco dal viaggio, se ne stava così sedendo presso il pozzo. Era circa l’ora sesta. Venne ad attinger acqua una Samaritana.
Nel Vangelo Gesu’ incontra la Samaritane e nella lettura Dio compie il miracolo della sorgente d’acqua, di cui Mose stesso aveva disperato. Nel Vangelo Gesu’ parla di acqua. Ma si tratta dell’acqua viva donata da Gesu’, cioe’ lo Spirito Santo.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

From the book of Numbers. In those days: The children of Israel gathered against Moses and Aaron; and rising up in rebellion, they began to say: “Give us water to drink.” Moses and Aaron, leaving the multitude, entered the Tabernacle of the Covenant and, prostrating themselves on their faces on the ground, raised their voices to the Lord, saying: «Lord God, hear the cry of this people and open to them your treasure, a source of water. Viva; let them quench their thirst and stop murmuring.” From the Gospel according to St. John. At that time Jesus arrived at a city in Samaria, called Sychar, near the estate that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was also there. Now therefore Jesus, tired from his journey, was thus sitting by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A Samaritan woman came to draw water. In the Gospel, Jesus meets the Samaritan woman and in the reading God performs the miracle of the water source, which Moses himself had despaired of. In the Gospel Jesus talks about water. But it is the living water given by Jesus, that is, the Holy Spirit.
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
