Luc 2:43-51
In illo témpore: Cum redírent, remánsit puer Iesus in Ierúsalem, et non cognovérunt paréntes eius. Existimántes autem illum esse in comitátu, venérunt iter diei, et requirébant eum inter cognátos, et notos. Et non inveniéntes, regréssi sunt in Ierúsalem, requiréntes eum. Et factum est, post tríduum invenérunt illum in templo sedéntem in médio doctórum, audiéntem illos, et interrogántem eos. Stupébant autem omnes, qui eum audiébant, super prudéntia et respónsis eius. Et vidéntes admiráti sunt. Et dixit mater eius ad illum: Fili, quid fecísti nobis sic? ecce pater tuus, et ego doléntes quærebámus te. Et ait ad illos: Quid est quod me quærebátis? nesciebátis quia in his, quæ Patris mei sunt, opórtet me esse. Et ipsi non intellexérunt verbum, quod locútus est ad eos. At that time, when they were returning, the Boy Jesus remained in Jerusalem, and His parents did not know it. But thinking that He was in the caravan, they had come a day’s journey before it occurred to them to look for Him among their relatives and acquaintances. And not finding Him, they returned to Jerusalem in search of Him. And it came to pass after three days, that they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And all who were listening to Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers. And when they saw Him, they were astonished. And His Mother said to Him, Son, why have You done so to us? Behold, in sorrow Your father and I have been seeking You. And He said to them, How is it that you sought Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business? And they did not understand the word that He spoke to them. And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them.

Eccli 24:23-31
Come una vite, io produssi pàmpini di odore soave, e i miei fiori diedero frutti di gloria e di ricchezza. Io sono la madre del bell’amore, del timore, della conoscenza e della santa speranza. In me si trova ogni grazia di dottrina e di verità, in me ogni speranza di vita e di virtù. Venite a me, voi tutti che mi desiderate, e dei miei frutti saziatevi. Poiché il mio spirito è più dolce del miele, e la mia eredità più dolce di un favo di miele. Il mio ricordo rimarrà per volger di secoli. Chi mangia di me, avrà ancor fame; chi beve di me, avrà ancor sete. Chi mi ascolta, non patirà vergogna; chi agisce con me, non peccherà; chi mi fa conoscere, avrà la vita eterna.

In quel tempo, mentre essi se ne tornavano, il fanciullo Gesù rimase in Gerusalemme, senza che i suoi genitori se ne accorgessero. Credendo che egli si trovasse nella comitiva, fecero una giornata di cammino, e lo cercavano fra parenti e conoscenti. Ma, non avendolo trovato, tornarono a Gerusalemme per farne ricerca. E avvenne che lo trovarono tre giorni dopo, nel tempio, seduto in mezzo ai dottori e intento ad ascoltarli e a interrogarli. E tutti quelli che lo udivano restavano meravigliati della sua intelligenza e delle sue risposte. Nel vederlo, essi furono stupiti, e sua madre gli disse: «Figlio, perché facesti a noi così? Ecco, tuo padre ed io addolorati ti cercavamo». Ma egli rispose loro: «Perché mi cercavate? Non sapevate che è necessario che io sia nelle cose del Padre mio?». Essi però non compresero ciò che aveva detto loro. Ed egli scese con essi e tornò a Nazareth; ed era loro sottomesso.
Oggi celebriamo nel vetus ordo la Maternita di Maria (1931), ovvero il titolo di Madre di Dio e di madre di tutti i cristiani.
Maria e Giuseppe per tre giorni non riescono a trovare Gesu’. Sono angosciati ma non hanno perso la fede. Lo trovano nel tempio di Gerusalemme mentre discute con i sacerdoti.
Non perdiamoci dunque d’animo nell prove. Gesu’ ci aiuta sempre nelle prove.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Ecclus 24:23-31
I bud forth delights like the vine, my blossoms become fruit fair and rich. I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope. In me is all grace of the way and of the truth, in me is all hope of life and of virtue. Come to me, all you that yearn for me, and be filled with my fruits; for my spirit is sweeter than honey, and my inheritance better to have than honey and the honeycomb. My memory is to everlasting generations. They who eat of me will hunger still, and they who drink of me will thirst for more. He who obeys me will not be put to shame, they who serve me will never fail. They who explain me shall have life everlasting.

Today we celebrate in the vetus ordo the Maternity of Mary (1931), or the title of Mother of God and mother of all Christians. Mary and Joseph are unable to find Jesus for three days. They are distressed but have not lost faith. They find him in the temple of Jerusalem discussing with the priests. So let us not lose heart in the trials. Jesus always helps us in trials.
