EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 17:1-9
Gospel
Matt 17:1-9
At that time, Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves, and was transfigured before them. And His face shone as the sun, and His garments became white as snow. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking together with Him. Then Peter addressed Jesus, saying, Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You will, let us set up three tents here, one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elias. As he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased; hear Him. And on hearing it the disciples fell on their faces and were exceedingly afraid. And Jesus came near and touched them, and said to them, Arise, and do not be afraid. But lifting up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only. And as they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus cautioned them, saying, Tell the vision to no one, till the Son of Man has risen from the dead.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – DOMENICA 25 FEBBRAIO 2024 ORE 10.30:

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
1 Thess 4:1-7.
FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
1 Thess 4:1-7. Brothers: We pray and beg you in the Lord Jesus, to study to live more and more in that way that you learned from us must live to please God, and as you already live. You know what precepts we have given you from the Lord Jesus: for the will of God is this: that you sanctify yourselves, that you abstain from fornication, that each of you knows how to obtain a wife who is his in holiness and honesty, without abandoning to disordered passions as do the Gentiles who do not know God.
Matt 17:1-9 At that time, Jesus took Peter and James and John his brother with him, and led them up a high mountain by themselves; and, in front of them, he was transfigured. We are making the Lenten journey.
This is the Lenten journey. Today is the second Sunday of Lent after the transfiguration of Jesus. We want to dedicate this Lent to Mary Most Holy. There are three apostles Peter, James and John and two great biblical characters who appear miraculously, Moses and Elijah (the greatest of the prophets). There are the typical elements of the exodus: Moses also spoke to God on the mountain (but he did not see his face face to face, but only from behind as the Bible says) and his face became luminous. And in fact Moses also appears during the transfiguration. Now we need to listen to Jesus, the Son of God, whose face the apostles and therefore we too can see! This is the commandment of God the Father, let’s listen to it and contemplate it! We will only be able to have this vision after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Saint Paul tells us that we must not be like the Gentiles, that is, non-Christians. We must have dominion over ourselves to live in God’s grace, so as not to become slaves to Satan! Jesus still speaks today with the Holy Spirit in our hearts, especially through the BVM
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
