EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Matt 8:5-13
In illo témpore: Cum introísset Iesus Caphárnaum, accéssit ad eum centúrio, rogans eum, et dicens: Dómine, puer meus iacet in domo paralýticus, et male torquétur. Et ait illi Iesus: Ego véniam et curábo eum. Et respóndens centúrio, ait: Dómine, non sum dignus, ut intres sub tectum meum: sed tantum dic verbo, et sanábitur puer meus. Nam et ego homo sum sub potestáte constitútus, habens sub me mílites, et dico huic: Vade, et vadit; et alii: Veni, et venit; et servo meo: Fac hoc, et facit. Audiens autem Iesus, mirátus est, et sequéntibus se dixit: Amen, dico vobis, non invéni tantam fidem in Israël. Dico autem vobis, quod multi ab Oriénte et Occidénte vénient, et recúmbent cum Abraham et Isaac et Iacob in regno cœlórum: fílii autem regni eiiciéntur in ténebras exterióres: ibi erit fletus et stridor déntium. Et dixit Iesus centurióni: Vade, et, sicut credidísti, fiat tibi. Et sanátus est puer in illa hora.

Matt 8:5-13
At that time, when Jesus had entered Capharnaum, there came to Him a centurion, who entreated Him, saying, Lord, my servant is lying sick in the house, paralyzed, and is grievously afflicted. Jesus said to him, I will come and cure him. But in answer the centurion said, Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man subject to authority, and have soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. And when Jesus heard this, He marveled, and said to those who were following Him, Amen I say to you, I have not found such great faith in Israel. And I tell you that many will come from the east and from the west, and will feast with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, but the children of the kingdom will be put forth into the darkness outside; there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth. Then Jesus said to the centurion, Go your way; as you have believed, so be it done to you. And the servant was healed in that hour.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA(**,1)
Lettura dal libro del Profeta Isaia.
In quel tempo Ezechia cadde in una malattia mortale, e il profeta Isaia figlio di Amos, andato a trovarlo, gli disse: «Così dice il Signore: – Ordina per bene le tue cose, perché tu morrai e non potrai vivere».
Dal vangelo secondo S.Matteo apostolo.
In quel tempo, entrato Gesù in Cafarnao, gli si accostò un centurione che lo implorava, dicendo: «Signore, il mio servo giace in casa paralizzato e soffre terribilmente». E Gesù gli disse: «Verrò e lo guarirò». E aggiunse: ” vi dico che molti verranno dall’oriente e dall’occidente e sederanno a mensa nel regno dei cieli con Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe; mentre i figli del regno saranno gettati nelle tenebre esteriori, dove sarà pianto e stridore di denti”.
Ezechia supplica il Signore. Non e’ stato un re superbo, ma umile. La sua preghiera viene ascoltata. Nel Vangelo il centurione prega con fede per un suo servo. Viene per questo ascoltato anche lui.
Occorre quindi pregare con fede e umilta!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Reading from the book of the Prophet Isaiah.
At that time Hezekiah fell into a fatal illness, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amos, who went to visit him, said to him: «Thus says the Lord: – Order your affairs well, because you will die and will not be able to live».
From the gospel according to St. Matthew the apostle.
