EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\HOMILY:
Luc 18:9-14
Ieiúno bis in sábbato: décimas do ómnium, quæ possídeo.
Gospel
Luke 18:9-14
At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves as being just and despised others. Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and began to pray thus within himself: ‘O God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men, robbers, dishonest, adulterers, or even like this publican. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I possess.’ But the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went back to his home justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.
DALL’OMELIA (FROM THE HOMILY) – VENERDI 11/08/2023 ORE 18.00

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
In the reading (Zechariah 13:7) the Lord says: “I will strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered, but after my resurrection I will precede you into Galilee”. From the Gospel according to John. Jesus on the cross pronounces the prophetic words “everything is accomplished” and bowed his head, he expired. Jesus’ side was pierced from which water and blood immediately came out. Today in the Vetus Ordo it gives the possibility to celebrate the votive mass of the Passion of the Lord. His Passion is in our hearts. If He has passed through them too, if we want to be Christians we must pass through the same sacrifice, the crosses that Jesus allows on our path. Without our cross we cannot follow him. If it is true that we are going through an epochal event for the Church, it is not possible to ignore the present difficulties. It is our hour, says the prophet Zechariah. This is being realized for us: the flock is scattered. We cannot oppose it, we must carry our crosses always remaining faithful to Jesus Christ!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
