DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Tim 4:1-8.
Carissimo: Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Gesù Cristo, che ha da venire a giudicare i vivi ed i morti, per la sua venuta e per il suo regno: predica la Parola, insisti a tempo opportuno e fuori tempo. Riprendi, esorta, sgrida con paziente insegnamento; perché verrà tempo in cui la gente non potrà sopportare la sana dottrina, ma per assecondare la propria passione e per prurito di novità, si creerà una folla di maestri, e per non ascoltare la verità andrà dietro a favole. Ma tu veglia sopra tutte le cose, sopporta le afflizioni, compi l’ufficio di predicare il Vangelo, adempi il tuo ministero e sii temperante. In quanto a me, il mio sangue sta per essere versato come una libazione e il tempo del mio scioglimento dal corpo è vicino. Ho combattuto la buona battaglia, ho conservato la fede. Non mi resta che ricevere la corona di giustizia, che mi darà in quel giorno il Signore, giusto giudice; e non solo a me, ma anche a quelli che desiderano la sua venuta.
Luc 12:35-40
In quel tempo: Disse Gesù ai suoi discepoli: «I vostri fianchi sian cinti ed accese nelle vostre mani le lucerne, come coloro che aspettano il loro padrone quando torni da nozze, per aprirgli appena giunge e picchia. Beati quei servi che il padrone, arrivando, troverà desti. In verità vi dico, che, cintosi, li farà sedere a tavola e si metterà a servirli. E se giungerà alla seconda vigilia e se giungerà alla terza vigilia e li troverà così, beati loro! Sappiate però che se il padrone conoscesse in qual ora viene il ladro, veglierebbe senza dubbio, e non si lascerebbe sfondare la casa. E anche voi tenetevi pronti, perché, nell’ora che non pensate, verrà il Figlio dell’uomo».
Nella lettura San Paolo conclude: non mi resta che ricevere la corona di giustizia, che mi darà in quel giorno il Signore, giusto giudice; e non solo a me, ma anche a quelli che desiderano la sua venuta.
Nel Vangelo Gesu’ afferma: beati quei servi che il padrone, arrivando, troverà desti! E anche voi tenetevi pronti, perché, nell’ora che non pensate, verrà il Figlio dell’uomo!
Oggi e’ il primo venerdi del mese di agosto. Ricordiamo San Domenico tra il XII e XIII secolo- Formatosi nei monasteri medievali, venne spinto a creare un nuovo ordine quello dei domenicani. Per combattere l’eresia, quella degli albigesi. Era necessario inviare predicatori illuminati. Questo fu appunto la missione dei domenicani assieme alla regola della poverta’.
Sam Domenico e’ anche uno dei propagatori del Rosario. Considerava la preghiera indispensabile per il successo del bene
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

2 Tim. 4:1-8
Beloved: I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus, Who will judge the living and the dead by His coming and by His kingdom, preach the word, be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, entreat, rebuke with all patience and teaching. For there will come a time when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but having itching ears, will heap up to themselves teachers according to their own lusts, and they will turn away their hearing from the truth and turn aside rather to fables. But be watchful in all things, bear with tribulation patiently, work as a preacher of the Gospel, fulfill your ministry. As for me, I am already being poured out in sacrifice, and the time of my deliverance is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. For the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord, the just Judge, will give to me in that day; yet not to me only, but also to those who love His coming.
Luke 12:35-40
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Let your loins be girt about and your lamps burning, and you yourselves like men waiting for their master’s return from the wedding; so that when he comes and knocks, they may straightway open to him. Blessed are those servants whom the master, on his return, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, he will gird himself, and will make them recline at table, and will come and serve them. And if he comes in the second watch, and if in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants! But of this be assured, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would certainly have watched, and not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because at an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man is coming.
In the reading St. Paul concludes: I just have to receive the crown of justice, which the Lord, the just judge, will give me on that day; and not only to me, but also to those who long for his coming.
In the Gospel, Jesus says: blessed are those servants whom the master will find awake when he arrives! And you too get ready, because, in an hour that you do not think, the Son of man will come!
Today is the first Friday of August. We remember San Domenico between the 12th and 13th centuries – Trained in medieval monasteries, he was pushed to create a new order that of the Dominicans.
